Notes: Our Imperial Stout. Single-Origin Coffee Only Void was cold conditioned on heavy amounts of our Awake Minds Ethiopian coffee (roasted by our pals at @reanimatorcoffee) for many moons. The result is a complex and luscious reimagining of one of our most dark and devastating beers.

Pours a rich, motor oil black with red and brown hues. A thick finger of dark tan head that settles into a thin film fairly quickly. Very modest lacing.

Nice coffee and chocolate in the nose, with hints of umami, tobacco leaf, leather and peanut butter.

Similar tasting with a little caramel malt and light berry fruitiness added to the mix and a moderate bitterness and coffee acidity lingering in the aftertaste.

Thick-bodied, chewy feel.

A nice cool-weather beer. Reminds me a bit of a higher-caliber chocolate peanut butter bar.

The clear winner (by far) at the Sunday afternoon bottle/can share at 16 tons.

The beer pours a blackish brown color with excellent head retention and lacing. This beer looks great, but then I stuck my beak in the glass. Oh mother... There is a HUGE aroma of fine, freshly roasted, high qualify coffee beans that just erupts from the glass. I've never encountered anything like this before, and frankly, this may be the finest smelling beer I have ever come across. There's considerable milk chocolate, vanilla and even hints of coconut as well in this outstanding beer. The flavor profile tended to replicate the nose pretty closely, though the coffee wasn't quite as intense (I mean, how could it be). In fact, the coffee flavor played very well with the chocolate and vanilla, creating a seamless blend of flavor. Mouthfeel was fairly soft and very creamy, yet this beer was incredibly light on it's feet. There's nothing heavy or cloying about this beer. I think I read that the abv. is around 9.5% in this beer, and yet it was amazing how well integrated into the flavor profile the alcohol was in this beer. The finish was nearly endless in this moderately sweet, absolutely delicious impy stout.

An absolute tour de force by the talented brewers at Tired Hands. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to sample this beauty. Thanks Derek!

Thanks goes out to larryi86 for this brew.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 5/24/17

Poured into a tulip a pretty nice dark brown color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger tan head, which leaves some minimal sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with a pretty nice touch of chocolate/toffee, nice touch of coffee, vanilla, some roastyness. The taste is pretty nice, malty, roasty, with a very nice touch of chocolate/toffee/coffee, nice vanilla sweetness. Full body, ABV hidden very well. Overall, a pretty tasty brew from TH. Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks Larry!

Pours a deep, dense black in color with a half finger of brown head. This looks a bit viscous as it pours. Aroma is full of coffee with some chocolate and a mere hint of roasted malt in the background. Taste hits the same notes as the aroma; the focus is the coffee. This reminds me very strongly of a choclate covered espresso beans but without the roasty astringency. Finish is actually pretty balanced, For a 10% stout this seems pretty well attenuated. Full-ish body with moderate carbonation. Overall this is a delicious beer, it hits all the notes I want in a coffee adjunct stout without any of the sweetness that I find so distracting. This is exactly the beer I want when I hear "coffee stout".

Spectacular beer in every respect. The pour is thick black viscous stout goodness. The aromas burst out of the glass with coffee and dark fruits. The taste is more of the same.. rich, smooth, thick coffee/dark fruits.. Coats the mouth with a long finish. No off coffee flavors that many coffee stouts have.. Feel is great as well.. Just a phenomenal beer put out by TH...

I had this on tap at Tired Hands during the release and it was phenomenal. I gave it a 4.47. Tons of coffee and roastiness and imperial goodness.

Then I had a can of the same beer almost four months later and was so disappointed. Barely any coffee, just an average imperial stout in line with the regular (and lackluster) Only Void.

So my rating reflects both experiences.

Pours black. Aroma is mainly coffee with a bit of chocolate. The taste is more complex with the coffee, chocolate, caramel and malts. Full bodied.
