Notes:
Pennsylvania is full of agricultural delights, so it came as no surprise to us that some of the finest East Coast Merlot was being produced right up the road from us at Karamoor Winery... After thoughtful conversations and planning, we took the entire brewery team up to their vineyard to harvest one ton of Merlot grapes. These grapes were then added, unprocessed and unsulfured, to an old Vin Santo foudre which held a mature/expressive Saison, which we brewed with locally grown/malted barley and wheat from our friends at Deer Creek Malthouse. There it sat for almost nine months, slowly fermenting with a blend of wild yeast/bacteria and our magickal Saison blend. The result is a true Pennsylvania expression. A confluence of meticulous curation and letting go. Revealing and enlightening.

750 mL bottle. Clear pink red body. Smells fruity, nutty, deep grape aroma. Tastes of grapes up front, but earthy and nutty flavors overwhelm here also. Malty with grape overtones. A little tartness. Medium body. Not a bright Saison. Earthy and mellow fruitiness. I guess it's not bad, but it isn't all that good either.

Crimson body with a thin, off-white collar. Red grapes, oak, funk. Really nice grape character. Juicy with mild funk and gentle acetic notes in the back. Tasty.
