Canned 9/8/16; drank 10/1/16 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque dull yellow appearance.

Small white head; strong, frothy lace.

Watermelon, apple & mild banana notes in the nose.

Medium mouthfeel.

Watermelon & banana flavors up front; smooth apple notes on the finish. No booze heat.

Fruity, balanced & very tasty.

This gets higher scores on the account that it blew away my expectations. Deep orange haze with great looking creamy foam upon pour. Very juicy but the melon is unmistakable and really shines as it slightly warms and towards the end of easy sip. Smooth and easy to drink. Like a watermelon jolly rancher IPA.

The Milkshake line up from Tired Hands is very much hit or miss with me. Some are OK while others are amazing. This one might be the best. The smoothness and outrageous flavor make this something special. I almost gave this a 5 across the board - its that good.

Super hazy golden color with a thick fluffy head and great lacing. Fruity hop driven aroma. Watermelon, underripe melon, light bubblegum, mild underripe banana, and the white part next to the melon rind. Full medium, silky, lush, creamy and dry on the back end. Very nice but not on the same level as Double Mango.

Notes from a few weeks ago. Poured from a TH 16oz can into a Boudreaux wine glass. Fresh from the brewery that day!

L: A super hazy cloudy floaty golden color with nice full glass lacing. One finger white head.

S: Fruit bomb with watermelon, stone fruit, strawberry and bubble gum sweetness.

T: Wow, this blows me away. So creamy and fruity its insane. Loads of ripe watermelon with a very distinct strawberry cream flavor. Some banana, peach, melon and slightly grassy mix with the candy bubblegum sweetness. Creaminess stays throughout as the watermelon comes back on the finish with slight bitterness.. How is a beer with this much bubblegum and cream so smooth but dry? Wow.

F: Creamy, full, coating prickly, sweet, dry, this beer has it all. Alcohol is so welcomed.

O: I am blown away by this beer. So damn good it's crazy. The fruit flavors and cream flavors they get from this without it being a cloying sweet mess is insane. So, so good it should be brewed again.

The beer comes in a murky lightly tarnished deep gold.

The aroma is straight watermelon candy, overripe watermelon, some citrus, doughy and creamy malts.

The flavor follows with this overripe smashed banana, green watermelon candy and bubble gum, chewy malts, a bit of grain, onto an herbaceous green finish.

One of the funkiest I've had in a while. It drinks very well for its ABV.

Canned 9/8/16. Consumed 9/25/16.

A: Sits in the glass a very turbid dark burnt orange, very reminiscent of Juilus or one of the Tree House DIPAs. About a finger of fluffy white head sticks around for a bit. Nothing too crazy in terms of lacing, but definitely some major alcohol legs on the glass.

S: Intensely sweet, almost artificial candied fruit. Watermelon (duh), honeydew, guava, and strawberry. Almost no dankness/earthiness to speak of. Just an intense, almost arresting aroma of overly ripe fruit.

T: Follows the nose, but with an even wider array of insane fruit flavors. Jolly Rancher-esque watermelon notes up front, complemented by lychee, guava, strawberry, and tangerine. Just a hint of pine on the finish, but the intensity pales in comparison to the potent waves of tropical fruit that hit you on the initial taste. Not getting much vanilla or 'creamsicle' on the mouth... Mostly just a bouquet of sweet, sticky fruit.

M: Medium plus to full, with a smooth carbonation that almost lives up to the 'milkshake' branding. Not quite as thick and creamy as Mango Double, but quite satisfying nonetheless. As with Mango Double, barely a hint of alcohol, which is absolutely insane given the nearly 10% ABV. No idea how they pull that off.

O: Honestly, I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would. Only other Milkshake I've had is Mango Double, and, while I loved that beer, I felt the intensity of the dry hop made for a spicy finish that, when combined with the sweetness of the mango-infused body, was simply overwhelming in a 16oz format. Double Watermelon, on the other hand, drinks more like a candied dessert beer. With minimal bitterness and a clean delivery of fruit flavor, it drinks well below its ABV, making it insanely drinkable.

Opaque yet glowing orange-yellow with a moderate, bubbly dense head that dies to a thin ring leaving some sporadic lace. It's much prettier than the strawberry variant--it resembles Julius pretty closely.

Smell is creamy vanilla yogurt and watermelon jolly rancher. I am just so thoroughly absorbed in these two magnificent aromas.

Taste is big, sweet watermelon bubblegum that slowly gives way to some tangy, spicy bittering hops and yeast that add a touch of strawberry and peach and pine. Despite how extreme this beer is towards the fruit, it's actually quite balanced between the IPA elements and the fruit.

Creamy, fluffy with a zingy, carbonated feel that develops into a very dry finish--for a beer called a milkshake this is a big wow.

L - Now That's What I Call Haze: Vol. TH. A lovely peachy glowing turbid mess. Awesome. Something I haven't noticed on other beers is when held to the light, the very top layer kinda has this swirling milky look. Kinda like a have-melted frozen beverage with translucent ice shards. Neat.

S - keep catching whiffs as I write the "look" section. Juice. Hints of a sweet candied orange. Bubblegum? Then it hits you. Wave after wave of watermelon. I've never smelled this in a beer before! A pungent sugary dankness that's brightened by melons galore.

T - wow, so many different flavors! Makes me do one of those eye-blinking things as I bring my head back from the glass, eyebrows cocked. Let's see, watermelon blast up front, but is quickly tamed by boozey candy. Lots of different tropical fruit, orange, pineapple, guava, peach, banana, and cotton candy (wait, that's not a fruit!). Sweet, doughy, white bread finish. Like taking some goddamn watermelon marmalade and spreading that shit on my toast. Very sugary, invokes nostalgia of my days at Boy Scout summer camp, spending our cash at the trading post and buying shitty soda/candy. The ABV is present but not overpowering. Takes all the fruit flavors and candies em' up a bit.

F - sharper than I'd expect from a milkshake. I'm not sure if that's the consistency or just the biting hops nipping at my tongue. It feels smooth and creamy swishing it around in my mouth, but instead of imparting syrup, the booze gives off a crisper, pointed, jabbing bitterness.

O - my first milkshake! And hopefully not my last. Still amazed at the genuine watermelon flavor. Most watermelon beers I've had go over the top, but this is blended with other flavors to create a balanced overall product. Well, as balanced as a beer with freakin' watermelon can be!

Thank you CanConPhilly for grabbing this for me!
16 oz can, dated 9/8/16, poured into a teku

A- A super hazy golden orange with a two finger white head.

S- This is sweet, watermelons, honey dew, hints of cotton candy, touch of vanilla and some dank hops. Kind of reminds me of watermelon bubble gum in a good way.

T- Watermelon, some cotton candy/bubblegum, some vanilla, resiny finish, hints of light fruit kind of a melon/tropical fruit combo.

M- Smooth, medium body, creamy.

O- A very tasty brew, watermelon actually is pretty tasty in this beer. Hops seem more mellow that in the other Milkshakes I've had. As far as being almost 10% ABV it is very well hidden. I would get this again, but there are a few other Milkshakes I would like to see before this is brewed again.

16oz canned 9/8/16. Real nice 'n fresh. Pours a thick, heady marigold with terrific lacing - yes, this is a "milkshake". Unsurprisingly subtle and nuanced flavors (expected from TH), the watermelon headline is legit - smell and taste it right off the bat. Second wave flavors of peach, banana, plum, cherry and bubblegum. Hints of malt and (Wonder)bread, a wee light on hops (is this really a DIPA?) I'll take the next one on a catamaran in a Caribbean bioluminescent bay.
