Canned 3/16/17; drank 3/26/17 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque ruby red appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big pink head; frothy lace.

Blueberry, oats, mild vanilla & faint passionfruit notes in the nose.

Soft, medium mouthfeel.

Tart blueberry & soft vanilla flavors up front; dry oat notes on the finish.

Fruity but balanced; this isn't really an IPA but it is enjoyable.

After many previous experiences with this series, I stored this upside down in my fridge for a more consistent pour. But the joke was on me, because this one wasn't nearly as "milkshakey" as the others, although it does pour a muddled pastel red-mauve with a soft, off-white, almost creamed-pink fuzz that settles to a central film.

The aroma is that classic Tired Hands Milkshake element of vanilla cream, bubblegum, and nougat with a distinct fresh yet mild blueberry. It's not too different from the aroma on the Strawberry Milkshake, but it is a little more subdued.

On the tongue I'm introduced with a sharp sting of strong IPA yeast, moreso than other Milkshakes. Obviously, that vanilla cream comes through, but surprisingly a touch of pine hits as well. The feel is also thin, sharp and crisp--not quite hitting those notes I love in this series, on top of the fact it is quite unexpectedly bitter. I don't get a lot of the ingredients, but at least some blueberry comes through and it is natural, light and almost fresh picked and green. There's a little breadiness, but it's not pancake.

This one sounded so damn enticing, but it just didn't come together and live up to my expectations, or even the quality of the original Milkshake.

16 oz can poured into a Tired Hands tumbler. Canned on March 16, brewery release. Comes in a 4-pack, says Yo Bro on the bottom. Brewed with Citra and Mosaic hops, lactose sugar, blueberry puree, maple syrup, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Milkshake IPAs are all the rage at Tired Hands. They've really hit it off with their collaboration with Omnipollo who have made beers with milk lactose/dessert IPAs before. This beer was originally a Brew Café experimental batch but ended up being the fastest keg they had ever went through. This beer was brewed and canned at the Fermenteria, their industrial scale brewhouse.

L - ruby red color, semi clear, two finger head, ring around the glass with very light lacing. Floaties evident

S - hops really ring true with notes of blueberry pie from the extras. Kind of like waking up to the smell of pancakes in the morning but also smelling an West Coast IPA in a glass

T - This is crazy. Blueberry, cream, spice, citrus hops. A pastry character, might as well be Blueberry Pancakes

F - full bodied feel, creaminess, a custard type feel for a beer.

O - purests will turn their nose at this, but the fact that this is a beer blows my mind, let alone an IPA. I love traditional beers, but I also love experimenting and the culinary aspect that goes with that. This experiment is a success in my opinion since everything is there and as advertised. Call it hype or not, but this is the real deal. Cheers!

From a 32oz growler filled at TH. What an unusual IPA! Pours an opaque but snappy pinkish-red, a bit like ruby grapefruit juice, with little head. Delightful on the nose and palate with clear notes of blueberry, vanilla and, yes, cinnamon. And an appropriately bitter finish. Another very creative brew from TH!
