Notes: Brewed with oats and lactose sugar. Conditioned atop heaps of luscious Madagascar vanilla beans and delicate/floral rose petals. Intensely hopped with Mosaic and Citra. Big notes of pink grapefruit, blueberry sorbet, and sun drenched springtime meadows...

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Opaque medium golden pour with massive fluffy white head. Great retention/lacing.

S: Rose and citrus. Floral notes and vanilla.

T.F: Just like it smells. Semi-sweet... lactose with light grains and big time vanilla. Citrus... tangerine and orange mixed with pineapple, rose hips, and a bit of spice. More vanilla... super creamy and smooth. Medium bodied. Vanilla/citrus medley to finish.

O: Another outstanding milkshake IPA from Tired Hands. They own this style and keep doing crazy wonderful things with it.

Yeah, this was old - really old, as the date on the bottom of the can read 4/26/17 with YO BRO written underneath that. I know that I took ages to get around to this but unlike the other Milkshake beers that lingered for a while in my stash, this aged well and never quite became a malt bomb. If you like your beers to be complex, smooth, and unique, then this would easily fit that bill - even when unintentionally aged!

Not a bad pour to this as the liquid had peach hue with a bit of sediment in it, but nothing large or out of the ordinary. Looked a lot like their other milkshake beers that I've had over the years, with the same foamy top and fine lacing left behind along the top third of my pint glass. Tons of floral notes, peach, and pink grapefruit in the nose with some potpourri underneath that as the taste was so wonderfully smooth, slick, and outdoorsy on a nice spring day. The sweetness and the vanilla beans tied everything in together beautifully as this indeed, felt like a milkshake!

Not a lot of booze or carbonation in this either, which allowed the flavors to linger on and softly fade off of the palate. Lots of people think that these beers are gimmicks but I love them and love how soft and sugary they are without going over the edge or feeling contrived. Lovely stuff that has me wishing that it wasn't the heat of summer right now!

Poured from the can into my Tired Hands Teku glass. This beer is 6 months old that I am reveiwing, but I've been drinking them from the release date and this is my last one.

L: Typical milkshake lighter golden cloudy color. Wonderful two finger white billowy head with awesome glass lacing.

S: Huge notes of fruit with grapefruit, peach and some lemon/lime. Hute vanilla and floral rose smells.

T: Funny how you perceive how a rose would taste, and that's the flavor I get up front. Rose/floral flavor mixes with the with grapefruit and peach flavors. I get a little fresh cut grass too. Of course the creamy vanilla flavors mix in to create the typical milkshake body. The mix of flavors really work well. Finish turns back to the creamy rose flavors as it dries out. Super beer.

F: Coating, smooth as silk, no alcohol and just an easy drinking beer.

O: Another outstanding shake. One would think the whole rose thing wouldn't work, but it does! This is one of my favorites for sure. Please make it again TH.

Hazy golden, big white head and nice lacing. Aromas of vanilla, bubblegum, blueberry and soft warm peaches. Notes of vanilla cake, blueberry jam, finger soft room temp peach, and soft floral. Soft, creamy and lightly dry. Another home run of a milkshake.

Do I still need to describe the appearance of these butternut squash purees? Fully opaque yellow-tan with a large, lumpy foam head leaving some spongy lace.

I'm smelling pink bubblegum, vanilla, flowers, and a little sticky peach. It's not to complex, this one.

Taste is herbal and spicy, even of black peppercorn--quite a departure from many of their other shakes. It also surprises with a bready finish. Back to the middle, I also taste vanilla cream, bubblegum, but not much of the fruit notes or rose petals, unfortunately--to me it's more like a general wildflower, but as I said, closer to an herbal quality.

Medium to light body despite its appearance, with a fizzy froth and semi-wet finish.

On tap. Really hazy bright yellow color with white head. Aroma is milky, dank, citrusy with a touch of vanilla. Taste is slightly sweet at first with vanilla milkshake notes. Finish is more hoppy, quite dry with a medium bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

16 oz can dated 4/27/17. Poured into Behind the Veil Teku glass. Only the finest glass will do for this.

L: 2F head with good retention, leaves lots of soapy lacing with a cap and ring. Beer is a hazy pale golden yellow, like pineapple juice.

S: I get four main scents here: Dairy lactose, vanilla, grapefruit, and floral. It makes for a delightful combination.

T: Taste largely follows nose. Very luxuriant. Grapefruit, peach, and floral flavors come through first, followed by creamy dairy, and then vanilla comes in and follows through to the finish. Not overly sweet or bitter at any point.

F: Medium bodied and creamy, light to medium carbonation so it doesn't get cloying or linger on the palate. Very easy to drink at this ABV. Construction magnificent, balance super-strong as well.

O: Finally a worthy rival to Aslin's Peach & Vanilla Milkshake. However long people waited for this, it was worth it.

Canned 4/26/17; drank 4/29/17 @ the Yarchives. Opaque light orange/yellow appearance. A rough pour yielded a huge white head; thick, frothy lace. Peach, vanilla, apple & fresh flower notes in the nose. Soft, medium mouthfeel. Mild peach & dry flower flavors up front; apple & mild vanilla notes on the finish. Balanced & pleasant; not the sweet bomb this series has devolved into recently.

A. Cloudy, color of banana flesh, light bubble-frothy head. Some spotty laces.

S. Wow - this does smell like Juicy Fruit gum. What a nose. In the back comes the standard citrus component.

T. Subtle. This is a a danky, juicy treat. It tastes like juicy fruit gum too. A little bit of banana, vanilla and coconut in the back. This is in no way sweet and very low bitterness. A floral finish to this beer.

M. Not harsh, light to medium body that hides the booze, delicate.

O. Milkshake IPA fans should seek this out. Defiantly one of the better versions. The reason this works is the flavorful and aggressive nose balances with the subtle and distinct taste. This is worth the price of admission.

Poured from a can into a giant wine glass.

Look: Opaque pineapple juice with a one finger white head. Lacing like crazy on the side of the glass. Just as turbid as can be.

Smell: Juicyfruit gum, flowers, grapefruit, vanilla ice cream, faint fresh picked blueberries and mango.

Taste: Grapefruit, mango, blueberries, vanilla ice cream. Floral notes on the back end which I guess is from the rose petals, but I don't actually know what rose petals taste like. Vanilla sticks to the roof of the mouth, which I find is true to most principal flavors in the Milk Shake series.

Feel: Creamy without being overbearing. Doesn't stick to your cheeks like a thick stout, but it lasts longer than the average IPA.

Overall: This is drinking fantastic fresh. With a couple weeks on it I think it could be a pretty epic brew. I will do a side-by-side with the strawberry milkshake and see how they compare. But for now this is just a great beer.
