Notes: Lush Life is our Lush and Layered Triple IPA. Brewed with a hefty base of creamy malted oats, smooth lactose sugar, raw/organic coconut oil, and buckets of local wildflower honey. Conditioned on heaps of BOTH Tahitian & Madagascar vanilla beans, as well as bright and fragrant jasmine tea. Intensely hopped and dry hopped with embarrassing amounts of Galaxy, Mosaic, Citra, and Simcoe. Back out into orbit once again with this one... sticky mango jam, Hawaiian papaya, early summer honeysuckle, pineapple, sweet resin, and lemon tea cakes. Man oh man.

Don't remember much but here is what I do remember:

The smell lured me in with a strange sweet smell (similar to smelling a ripe fruit in an open market). The look was cloudy as expected and the first sip started the tailspin. Every sip was one of "I think I taste some honey, maybe papaya? What is it . . . ." The feel was so smooth I topped off the can before I knew it. Maximum effort on this can and well done. There was complexity in the madness and the high alcohol content makes one think of the picture on the can the next day.

Cloudy light orange with a super creamy white head. Quite lovely.

Mango, pine resin and vanilla show in
the nose.

Some distinct root beer-flavored herbs, possibly licorice root, mix with the tropical fruit and vanilla in the taste. There's also a slightly chalky, Necco Wafer quality to the finish. Although the tropical fruit mostly masks it.

Mildly creamy feel with nice carbonation.

Absolutely delicious.

16oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a hazy, cloudy golden yellow body, two finger thick white head, great retention and multiple rings of lacing. Smell is citrus, tropical fruit, big grapefruit, a touch of herbal notes, mild caramel sweetness, touch of sugar. Big hops here, and the malt is appropriately in the background, barely detectable. Flavour is a clean but creamy combination of grapefruit, citrus zest, herbal and floral notes, a bit of tropical fruit sweetness, moderate sugar and caramel in the background, but disguised by all the hops. Medium-fuller bodied, creamy carbonation, soft and deliciously floral bitterness on the backend. A touch of that slightly spicy heat that seems to come standard with hazy beers. Not too bitter but not too sweet yet with big aromatic hops. Solid triple IPA, lots to like about this one.

Lush Life - Tired Hands
TIPA - 10.6% abv
Canned 3/26/18 (20 days ago)

L - dense 2-finger offwhite head just sits there and refuses to budge. Body is an appealing golden color.

S - grapefruit and pine. A little melon. Perhaps a bit of dankness.

T - massive grapefruit to start, mixed with some moderate dankness. Some orange and tropical fruit mixed in as well. Huge earthy middle. Chalky finish. Moderately bitter, no sweetness, not at all boozy.

F - lighter bodied than you would expect, with appropriate carb.

O - I would never have guessed this was 12%. Booze is completely hidden, and there is no sweetness at all. This one is all about the “extravagant” use of hops. This is my favorite Tired Hands brew in several years. God I hope they make this again!

16 oz can, dated 3/26/18, poured into a teku

A- A hazy golden straw with a two finger white head.

S- Mango, lime zest, some honey and lactose, vanilla, bright citrus hops, a nice amount of tea.

T- Mango, citrus zest, tropical fruits, some lactose and honey, citrus hops, vanilla, tea, mild dankness.

M- Smooth, medium body, creamy.

O- A little on the sweet side but better than other Tired Hands Triple IPAs. The honey and tea add a nice balancing touch to this that I feel other higher ABV IPAs Tired Hands have brewed. Still overpriced, but I really enjoy it.
