Enjoyed at the 2016 Copenhagen Beer Festival in Boston, MA. Reviewed from notes.

A - Poured a hazy golden hue with a thin white head that faded somewhat quickly to leave a thin blanket.

S - Aromas of muted hops, super super faint tropical notes and surprisingly light mango. Thought this would be far more assertive than it actually was.

T - Taste unfortunately is similar to the nose. The hops are solid enough albeit light. Little bit of generic tropical fruit, mango notes themselves are actually rather faint.

M - Mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, alcohol hidden well, slightly creamy.

O - Overall this was a somewhat disappointing beer. Really expected a much more aggressive beer here and this was not it.

Poured from tap at the Brew Cafe into a pint glass.

L: A hazy light to medium golden color with a huge white head and huge glass lacing. Not super cloudy which sort of suprised me.

S: Tropical fruits and mango just come wafting out. Not picking up any sweetness on the nose.

T: Wow, loads of mango, guava, pineapple, tropical fruits along with some lemon and lime. Ever so slight candied sweetness that mixes with the huge fruit flavors. Finish is creamy smooth with a little bitterness. Dry finish as the fruit flavors linger. Nice.

F: Creamy, nice carbonation, no alcohol and a medium overall feel.

O: I heard the cans of this were not great, but on draft yersterday it was spectacular. I bought a growler so I'll revisit it in a few days but I expect to get the same opinion. Great beer.

SUPER cloudy and golden/straw color, peachy whit head. Smell is mango and maybe a hint of pineapple, definitely ripe fruit. Sharp bubble up front followed by a smooth, creamy, luxurious texture. Taste is mango and juicy, a little bubblegum on the back, some rind bitterness. The bitterness gets sharper as you work your way through, it started out tasting better than it does at the end.

L - oh man, all I did was crack the can it it looks like liquid mangos. Can't wait to pour... wtf this is the yellowist I've ever seen beer! It looks like straight puréed mangos! Incredible! An absolute brick of solid milky hazy yellow. Sticky lacing dissipates quickly but desperately grabs at the sides of the glass.

S - what's the smell? Could it be...? Mangos, you say? Well I never! Sweet and earthy mangos. Syrupy watermelon almost like Tired Hands's milkshake. Bubblegum and sugar. Cotton candy.

T - juicy punch up front but it's fleeting. Creamy mango and orange with a hint of grassy pineapple. But then that all goes away. I'm honestly not sure what happened to this beer. All those delectable sweet flavors and it comes crashing down spectacularly into a rindy bitter mess. Acidic and downright abrasive. Violent, even. Dries out the back of my throat and leaves a grainy mealy bitter sensation like I just got finished chewing on raw spinach. If crabgrass could possibly be unripe it would taste like this beer. What happened. It's almost not even a flavor. Just a sensation. A very bitter sensation. I've chewed on lemon rinds that taste like mango candy compared to this. Wow. Novocaine city.

F - relatively smooth and creamy but I'm quickly distractes by the astringency. Not sure how to rate this category because I think it's good, but the aggressive twang is so up in my face that I can't properly analyze the feel.

O - the beer looks goddamn amazing. Smells like a dream. But the taste. Dear god the taste! What happened?!

Pours a very cloudy yellow. Grapefruit Mango juice. Minimal head and lacing.
Smell was pleasant enough I guess, lot of bitterness like grapefruit juice.
Tasted awful, astringent highly bitter green pine sap, very green fruit perhaps. Hardly and fruit or sweet mango to be found. Also left a wonderful numb feeling on my tongue like I just left the dentist.

16oz can poured into a teku glass. Pours a smoothie-like yellow-orange. Nose is strongly mango, with a faint underripe mango, almost chemical, background on the nose. The palate is at first, somewhat Julius-like: lots of tropical fruit (predominantly mango) resting in a smoothie-like mouthfeel. The backend of the palate (for this batch particularly) has been causing controversy, with this release having been dubbed "MagoTagoGate". There's a strong, chemical burn, like a way-underripe mango on steroids. This Campden-tablet like flavor mars what would otherwise be an extraordinary beer. So much so, in fact, that Tired Hands offered a refund on this batch (the cost of the can + 50c). Given that, and given that Paperhouse - the release of MagoTago aimed at correcting this - was a homerun, I don't feel I can adequately review this beer based on having tried an off iteration. As such, I will be reviewing this similarly to Paperhouse, to be more consistent with the flavor that has represented the majority of this beer's existence.
