Had on tap 7/23. This beer is a definite dubbel right upfront. Flavors of raisins, and the sweet D2 syrup shine through initially. Goes to a dryer, more pronounced rye flavor. I had hoped for a little more rye, but there is still considerable spiced flavors underneath the dried fruit. This beer is one of the more bready aromaed beer Tired Hands has released. It's an enjoyable and refreshing take on the standard dubbel (both American and Belgium styles).

A: Pours a brownish amber color with ample head. Some lacing is present during consumption.

S: Malt, caramel, spices, hops.

T: Lots of layers on this brew. Dubbel characteristics well mixed with a Saison - lots of malting, sweetness, farm spicing, bright citrus, grass. Really happy.

M: Medium bodied and one to savor.

O: Great brew.

Appearance: An average pour produced 1'' of cream-tan head. Color is copper-red, clarity is slightly hazy. Lacing was sparse.

Smell: Smell consists of bread, toffee, roastyness, brett, black pepper, coconut, grapes, vanilla, and smoke. Weird! I dig it.

Taste: Taste consists of black pepper, earth, balanced brett, belgian syrup, vanilla, and coconut lingering in the aftertaste. Flavor duration is average-long, with light-moderate sweetness, and moderate sour/bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Body is light-medium, with a thin, slick texture. Carbonation is average, with a sour, sweet, dry, and tart finish.

Overall: Beautifully balanced. Excellent. Interesting. Weird!

I had this on tap at Tired Hands served chilled in a willybecker.

the color is a hazy ruby shade with crimson hue with light beige creamy head with thick lace pattern, it is not unattractive but not very eye-catching either. The smell is a mix of aromas with some vinous notes and sweet caramel blending to make an interesting combination of lightly sour and sweet. The feel is a little like the aroma with some tanginess of yeast and the wine influence adds a light fruity sweetness but so does the candy sugar making it finish sweeter than most of the TH beers.

The flavor is decent but not outstanding in that the mix of the wild yeast and some red wine barrel flavor and the dark candi syrup can clash a little bit but it does have a sweet and sour sort of juxtoposition which is interesting at the same time. I am a little conflicted since most of the dubbels I like are on the dry side, however this is not your average dubbel it is sort of a hybrid red wine barrel aged saison with some candy sugar mixed in just to mess with your perception. I kind of liked this beer enough to try a whole pint but would probably not order it again so it is good enough to try at least.
