Visited in April 2023 on a Sunday around 5pm. Sat at the bar on a Sunday around 5pm. Maybe my expectations were too high but I was not overwhelmed with the quality or uniqueness of the beer.
V – Great vibe. 4.25
Qual – They make good IPAs but IMO nothing unique or better than anyone else. Frankly all the IPAs tasted the same. They serve their beer too cold. 4
Ser - Great service. Some trainees but still good. The new folks wanted to learn from me. 4.5
Sel - It’s all about the IPA at this place. The variety is low. Only an Irish dry stout on tap. Nothing else dark or European other than the saisons. 3.5
F - I had the chicken sandwich and fries, which were great. Price was right. 4.25

Do not - repeat do not - go to the newest "Fermentaria" as they call it, in downtown Ardmore, which I take it is the main brewing location. I had not realized that the Ardmore Avenue café was so close, or would've gone there instead. The sound pollution in this brewing facility is off-the-scale screaming loud! A roaring hum accompanied by a high-pitched squeal and it's constant. I am making a guess that if someone ran a dB meter, it was around 100 db in there (a vacuum cleaner is 75). I couldn't WAIT to get out of there - made a quick taste of a beer, bought one four pack and ran for my life. The people who work in there (not to mention customers who stay longer than five minutes) are going to suffer serious, I mean serious (and unfortunately permanent) hearing damage. Hard to believe they are cavalierly running a facility like that and getting away with it!

Crowded on a Sunday, no seating space, and the lines at the other location were even longer. Small and cozy, but far too small for their reputation. Nice options on the various pour sizes though.

Very IPA centric brewery. Some of the best IPAS out there, though. Very good table saisons. Outstanding, but very scarce stouts and Barleywines.

Went here once a week when I was air dropped for work in PA. The vibe is one of a typical bar scene (stools and a few tables in a row). There is an upstairs but it takes you away from the bar scene. The bartenders are great and the service is the best part of the brewery. The beer selection is diverse with variety so you can sample and have a full pint of whatever you would like (lager, IPA, stout, etc.) The only issue with the location is the food selection. There is no full kitchen so sandwiches are pressed and other dishes are pre-prepared a bit with of finishing by the cooking crew. The food, though, is above expectations. The menu does not change much so after a few months, the special sandwich was my "go-to" since I had already gone through the rest of the menu a few times. Enjoy!

Food and beer are absolutely a 4. Where the brew cafe utterly fails is in the service. The employees there make you feel as if they are doing you a favor in taking your money. Been there probably 10 plus times in the past few years, and same story each time. So bad service and bad attitudes are not an anomaly.

Smaller than their in town fermentary, this location is a cozy bar with good pub food and a good tap list to go with it. Smaller and more quiet than their fermentary, seating can be a problem during busy times.

2 locations a few blocks from each other with completely different vibe. The Fermentaria is an open space with a bar area and a dining area. Very lively. Can releases are at the Fermentaria. Great selection of TH beers, The Brew Cafe is smaller, quieter and more intimate. Still has a large beer selection and only slightly overlaps with the Fermentaria tap list. Different food menus at each location and the food is very good at both.

The two locations (~2-3 blocks apart) have very different food menus and fairly different beer menus. The latter change at a pretty incredible rate, because these guys are always experimenting and their brews are invariably interesting to fantastic. I prefer the Brew Cafe (Ardmore Ave, the original one), but try both if you can.

Fantastic visit to the Fermentaria, which houses the brewery, a bar and restaurant under one lofted roof. The food was solid and creative, featuring tacos, sandwiches and New American fare entrees. The beer selection was large, offering at least 12 beers at 4, 8, 16, 32 and 64 oz pours. Plus, the back of the menu features a wide selection of their large format bottle beers to enjoy. Server was friendly and knowledgeable, with time and interest in geeking out over beers and brewing process. Good stuff all around and a worthwhile visit if you're in town.

The original brew cafe, next door to the Geneal Store.
Small, cozy place, with bar on the right and seating to the left. Despite the size, sound volume didn't get too loud, even though the place was fairly crowded.
About ten beers on tap, with very good variety, and a few really weird ones, this being Tired Hands. Everything was well made and tasty. Service was good and speedy, but I didn't engage too much, since I wasn't there alone.
We didn't try the food, but it looked and smelled nice.
Overall, a cozier place than the Ferm, but probably gets very crowded on weekends.

I mean come on. Amazing vibe, great people, and the beers are incredible. The addition of on-site 32 oz. cans from draft to go is quite a site.

About a 3 minute walk from the much larger and more modern Fermenteria location in quant downtown Ardmore.
Smaller bar down stairs crammed in with some brewing vessels. They offer cheese and meat plates to eat. Larger area available upstairs to relax and enjoy their fine brews....comfortable and worthy spot.....one door over from the store.
