Can added 1609FL? b1916G

A: pours a surprisingly dark gold with three fingers rocky, persistent head. A few streams of large bubbles flow up. Lacing was okay.

A: quite sulfury; but a mild nose; not really strong on hops or malt.

T: more hop bite than I expected; this beer has some character! Quite a surprise. Some mild Pilsner malt on the middle, but light overall. Very good noble hop bittering on the end, but not much hop character lingers.

M: heavier than expected; heavier side of light. Quite crisp and clean, but not as refreshing as say, Coors light. I just ran 6 miles, so any beer will seem heavy right now.

O: a more characterful alternative to an AAL. Would pair great with food. Perfect for summer. The can is a bonus; it won't skunk on you.

Has a decent looking gold color that resembles a lot American adjunct lagers. The carbonation is nice but the body is thin. Feels almost sticky. Does not smell like beer to me. More like alcoholic rice pudding. Taste resembles anhauser beers, with a subtle sweetness that really doesn't taste sweet at all.

Coming in a very distinctive shiny silver can, it certainly stands out in the off licence.

Appearance: The appearance was of a lovely clean looking golden yellow colour, with a pretty good white frothy head on pour
Head does die a little, no real lacing
Nice carbonation, bubbling along throughout.
Is definitely a nice looking beer, even if the head is non existent.

Aroma: Not trying to be funny but thought it smelt of shite, ha ha, now I know that’s obviously the sweet rice mixed around with the hops, grains and sweet malts. but Jesus I didn’t like the smell one bit at all, very stinky smell, bit of a generic beer smell too, Japanese style, but not very appealing.

Faint initial taste of the malts , not much to saviour, but very clean and smooth, very easy to drink

Taste only really kicks in at the back end, with the rice and the grassy hops kicking in

Has a slight kick to it alright, can definitely feel the alcohol, sweet and bitter, but not overbearing.

Ok beer, not a bad beer, nothing offensive, not much taste, but very smooth and easy to drink, but it would be nice to actually taste some real flavours.......something......anything at all....come on! And not just a bland generic taste of nothingness

Classic 22-oz can poured into classic restaurant tall pilsner glass.

Am drinking my first Sapporo in at least 2-3 years. Yes, I'm at a sushi place. Just didn't feel like sake. Given my affinity for massively hopped, massive-ABV brews, I wondered how this would taste after all this time. Not bad. Not bad at all. Certainly not a "poor" pour in any sense. It is what it is, and it's going down easy, especially at $5.25. Glad I ordered it.

From an undated 600ml bottle. Pours a transparent golden color with a thin lacing of bubbles. Smells of lager yeast and sweet corn. Light mouthfeel without much carbonation. Tastes of rice but not much else. Very clean, crisp, and drinkable. Good for what it's trying to be, just not terribly complex.

12 fl bottle condition from sixer - $10.89 locally

Pours a pale clear yellow with roughly 1 inch head and minimum lacing left over throughout the drink. It smells hoppy (strangely) with a hint of rice. first taste gives way to a liquidly mild hop and then a smooth crisp malt and a light aftertaste - only once you smack your tongue to your roof of your mouth do you notice hoppy flavour. Having a decent balance of carbonation makes this a desirable beer to have with a meal of fish, sushi, or even deep fried chicken.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass

A - Moderate pour produces a head that is 1 finger in height and is white in color. The head is a light to moderately creamy foam and dissipates rather slowly to a thin lacing. The beer itself is clear and straw colored with a moderate carbonation visible based on small bubbles rising moderately quickly towards the surface. 3.5/5

S - Very subdued aroma. Rice, corn, and a light malty graininess provide the majority of the aroma, and these don't even provide much. Hops comes across as a clean and slightly spicy note on the back end. 2.5/5

T - The flavor is a bit more pronounced than the aroma but it is not all that flavorful. Rice, corn, and light malt provide a slight sweetness to the beer that is pleasant but also a bit underwhelming. A bit of light black pepper comes out in the middle leading into grassy hops that only provide a slight bit of flavor. Very little bitterness and none lingering. As the beer warms a bit of tart green apple and a metallic note come out, especially on the back end of the flavor. 2.5/5

M - Light bodied beer with a light carbonation tickle up front but which dissipates to a crispness thereafter. No drying at all and no lingering mouthfeel after swallowing. 3.25/5

O - Underwhelming in terms of aroma and flavor but the appearance and mouthfeel are appealing. The aromas and flavors are there, they just don't come out and grab you at any point in time. Balanced in the fact that neither the malt nor the hops provide much flavor and therefore don't have much of anything to work against. 2.75/5

From Carrefour San Juan. In Ikea's pint glass. 66 cl can. 4.55€. Watching Sons of Anarcharchy 7x01-02. Smooth, watery, not bad tasting but tiresome. Its overpriced around 400%. Average score 2.36

02-09-2016: Bottle from Wasabi. In Teku glass. At dinner, with spanish omelete. Ive enjoyed this one much more than the canned version from Carrefour. This feels more balanced and pleasant to the mouth

Appearance - First of all I have to say I love this "indestructable" Can!. This beer pours a clear golden straw yellow with 2 fingers of white fluffy head, which fades to a very slim film.

Aroma - I get nice bready barley and rice notes followed by a light fruit sweetness.

Taste - Again you get a breadyness from the malt and some rice followed by what I can best describe as green apple peel and a moderate bitterness.

Feel - Light, watery, clean. crisp. refreshing,

Overall - This beer definitely has more flavor than most beers in the macro lager styles. The slight apple flavor really is noticeable and the bitterness balances the malts. Give me this with a nice summer bbq and ill be more than content.

Pours a highly carbonated straw yellow color with a finger head of bright white foam that recedes slowly, beautiful.
Smells of bready malt, budweiser like due to the rice, some apple.
Taste is phenomenally well balanced for the price and simplicity, sweet malt, followed by biscuits and bread, then rice with a dry noticeable hop finish!
Mouthfeel, light,crisp and refreshing.
Overalo, fantastic beer for the style.

Look, this isn't a GOOD beer, per se; my basic metric is whether you'll still want to drink a beer when it's not ice cold, and this doesn't pass. But for those specific times when you just want something to drink with a meal, or pound down on a summer day, this is great. Refreshing, clean, and tasty when cold, it's a great beer for $3. I've heard it referred to as "the best bad beer" and I think that's pretty accurate.

Can poured into a pint glass

A: Pours a pale, golden yellow/orange color with a white head that fizzled into nothing in a few seconds, some carbonation streaming off the bottom, looks really thin, like watered down apple juice, no lacing, no head, clear.

A: Musty, hay, grass like aromas, hint of malt sweetness, no alcohol on the nose, pretty straightforward, not much going on here.

T: Honey like sweetness, hay, grass, malty sweetness coming through, mild amount of bitterness, has a very unpleasant aftertaste, it's like plastic, very strange.

M: Light, thin, lacks carbonation, semi-dry finish.

O: Not very good at all, strange plastic/Scotch tape aftertaste that lingers, not sure if this is normal as I have never tried this before. There are plenty of beers I would prefer over this.

Pours a clear yellow color with a finger width foamy head. Head retention is decent. Lacing is good. Typical lager, rice aroma. Balanced but nothing very appealing. Malty rice taste. Very little in the way of hops. Nothing special. Easy drinking and would prefer to a adjuvant lager any day. Light bodied with high carbonation.

22 ounce can poured into a nonic pint glass.

Pours golden with good clarity and bursting carbonation. Frothy, foamy, bright white head forms and shows excellent retention and develops good lace. 5

Very minerally aroma, sweet bread notes, faded grassy hops. 3

Similar to the nose in the bread notes, mineral quality, and somewhat musty, grassy hops, but there is a faint flavor that reminds me of either vodka or sake or both. It's a familiar taste that is grainy and I have to assume is the rice addition. This flavor lingers on the finish and recalls many a bad night drinking way too much shitty liquor that ended up on an alley floor amidst other items consumed in the hours previous. 2.75

Starts off clean enough, full-mouthed and well-carbonated in way that satisfies, but it's that finish, again, which just recalls something boozier, grainier, and akin to a deathly hangover that keeps one moving from the bed to the couch because the headache makes resting the head on the pillow painful. 2.75

Let's be honest, this beer is to sushi what Corona is to enchilada, you pair them unquestioningly and have done so forever.

Sapporo Premium Beer brewed by Sapporo Breweries Ltd., with an ABV of 5.0% This brew pours out a nice amber color with a nice white head. This brew has the look of american style brew, not saying that is a bad thing. The smell of this brew is strong with grains, you also pick up malts and some hops. I have something silmiler to this in the past. I can put my finger on it right now. Now for the taste, it is bold with flavors, you pick up the grins in this brew. You also pick up malts and hops in the taste of this brew. This brew puts in the mind set of a cross between a american brew and malt liquor. Something with a lot of rice. I guess what I have been calling some brews corn brew when in fact it is rice brew. I really do enjoy the taste of Sapporo Premium Beer. Sapporo Premium Beer, has a nice balance to it, there is nothing overpowering about this brew. There are a lot of grains in this brew, but this is a rice brew. Overall I'm giving Sapporo Premium Beer a 3.5 out of 5. I would buy this brew again.
Sapporo Breweries Ltd. did a nice job with this brew. Note this is one of my first brews from Japan.

A very mild beer. Mass-produced low-flavor beers like this tend to over-do it on the carbonation which can lead to a harshness, but this one finds a good level. The strongest characteristic is a bit of a sweetness that compliments the malt. Unassuming, but plenty drinkable.

Poured from a 22oz can.
Poured a pale/straw yellow. Not much head or lacing.
Slightly grassy smell. Slight malt taste. Nothing great or full of flavor, but not offending either. Basic beer choice for Japanese/Chinese food.

Sapporo is probably the best beer when it comes to having a plate of sushi... fried rice... or any sort of Teppanese product. It has a nice smooth crisp flavor and not only that... It makes a great beer for being a digestif. I like this beer but I feel that Sapporo can do better.

Looked alright, a surprisingly fluffy white head and a pleasant golden color with decent carbonation. Smells of dried oat and graphite mineral, most likely from the carb. Taste was a little bit of a let down considering I used to drink this more often in another uneducated life. The taste started off with a nice light roasted wheat toast flavor but quickly transitioned to cloyingly sweet with candy sugar, honey and a little bit of rice. This beer needed more bittering to balance the sweetness. The sweetness covered up most everything else for me. Texture was good but the sweetness left a mouth coating feel. Not exciting to me. If you're at a Japanese restaurant and you must have a import rice lager, I remember liking asahi better.

I was pleasantly surprised by this adjunct.

It poured smoothly, and the head was soft. It didn't have a predominantly strong smell, maybe ever so slightly hoppy but to claim it is hoppy would be stretching it. The taste, however, really was captivating. It wasn't bitter, but it wasn't sweet either. There was an excellent balance of malts and rice, and the carbonation really fills your nasal cavity with the flavor as well (which I think makes up for the mild smell before drinking it).
I have tasted Kirin Ichiban and Asahi Super Dry, and I have to say that Sapporo is the best Japanese beer I have tasted. (Granted I haven't had too many).

First beer in a couple weeks after camping. At this point, anything would taste good, so tasting probably high for me. Had from a 500ml can. Pours very light, lots of carbonation. Hops in both smell and taste, but not much. Very weak/watery. Much like a big box brewery in the us.

Apparently my review was lost or never uploaded. Here it is.

Crystal clear light almost watery color, no head.

Nose mild grainy notes, watery, mild macro lager almost skunk but not quite, a touch of grassy hop even.

Taste similar, touches of grainy malts, pilsner, minerality like lagering that is macro flavor, a little watery rice notes, touch of grassy hop bitterness.

Mouth is light, decent carb.

Cant really complain about this adjunct lager. Here goes:

A: Pours a fluffy, white head that leaves good lacing. Beer is also sufficiently carbonated. The color is a somewhat darker-than-usual yellow, but the beer is still perfectly clear.

S: Actually not bad. Mild, grassy Pilsner hops on a muted grainy backbone. Grains consist of some barley and a lot of rice. Alright.

T: Lots of Pilsner hops give way to grainy flavors. Grains are mostly rice, but the barley is still there. Very cereally.

F: Only drawback. A little too watery, and the carbonation is lacking compare to AAL's.

O: Solid beer. Would have again. Good job suffusing the rice with sufficient barley.

I'm no beer taster or pro at this but being a Canadian that drinks mostly Canadian beer, Sapporo beer is actually pretty good.

I had my doubts like any new beer I try but its something I wouldn't mind more of if it wasn't expensive compared to what I normally drink.

Very good crisp flavourful taste, a bit hoppy and malty but nothing the average beer drinker shouldn't be able to down a couple of with any problem.

10/10 Would drink again

Pours a clear golden with a small, white head. Mild malt aroma. Mildly sweet malt flavour with corn, slightly bitter finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation.
