A very light and bland beer, almost no flavor at all because it's too watery, not much to smell either. I'd prefer a macro light beer over one of these.

you know, as much as this shouldnt be the case here, this light i think is better than their reserve all malt brew, which despite being lagered longer, really is a total mess. this is a clean and crisp, if albeit a little adjuncty, its dry as they come, and quite refreshing in the right context. easy drinking yellow beer, lots of bubbles, and basically no aftertaste. the malt is in the front, a touch starchy, is their rice in this? maybe corn, as there is a moment of that flavor up front too, and even a detectable pinch of grassy almost stale tasting hops, but it doesnt have any of the weird lager yeast flavor the reserve has, and with the freakishly low abv, its a real crusher. save more room in the gut for the sushi right? after a recent trip to puerto rico, i feel like my palate for light lagers has evolved a lot, or maybe got back up to speed with what these are supposed to taste like, and as much as i dislike the style, i have to acknowledge when i find a decent one, and this one in many respects is ahead of its peers. take it or leave it.

Poured from a 12oz bottle (bottled 09Mar15) into a pilsner glass.
LOOK: Pours with a half finger's worth of white foam that shrivels down into a line after 45 seconds. Rising bubbles are medium sized and are moderate in number. Straw yellow in color. Lacing is thin and moderate, but stays on the sides of the glass.
SMELL: Has subtle aromas of rice and and hints of bitter and spicy hops. This hardly smells like anything.
TASTE: Mild aromas of rice malts enter intially and are immediately followed by mild bitter and spicy hops.
FEEL: Light-bodied and so carbonated, that it burns my tongue. Goes down rough and had a thirst-quenching finish.
NOTE: Incredibly well-balanced. Doesn't make it any better tasting, though.

A simply horrible beer, if one could call it a beer. Regular Sapporo is bad enough but I guess the brewers felt like they could do even worse....they were right. Appearance is about what you'd expect from a light beer, pale with barely any color, as if you mixed a spoonful of beer in a glass full of water. Lingering and repulsive acidic taste, flat and empty body even for a light beer. Aroma not completely repugnant but it's nothing that a beer should smell like as it is absent of any trace of fundamental beer ingredients. Smells more like sake without the alcohol. If you like beer made from rice I guess this won't be the worst thing you could drink but don't expect quality here.

A - Clear gasoline yellow. Light finger of head

S - Average for the style. Lightly astringent but much better than adjunct beers.

T - Slightly boring. Flavor is heavily dependent on the malts themselves. Not much hopping or roasting and no esters to speak of

M - The best part of the experience. It is a thick malty beer. They call it light but I'm curious what the calorie level actually it to achieve this mouth feel.

O - This is an ok beer if you're in the mood for something bland and thick. You can pick up a 6pack around these parts for less than $8. I needed some extra bottles for a batch I'm brewing and this was about this same price as buying bottles.

Light, clean crisp. Paired well with shrimp and scallops hibachi. Not great but nice when paired with the right dish.

pale golden yellow in color. Clear in appearance. rice, simple malt and wet cardboard. Goes perfectly well spice Thai food. Besides that, it's pretty flavorless. Refreshing.
