Here comes the prototypical fizzy yellow beer. Doesn't retain a head. Fizzes up white, but crashes with no wave. Aroma was mild nothingness of grain, rice type of thing.

Taste, well there's lots of carbonation, a little twinge of hops and bitterness. Six row I'm thinking and rice. Watery, good for food I guess. I don't know why it is so relatively expensive, I guess its because it comes from half way around the world, or they just have a good marketing department to make people think this is exotic and imported.

Weak and watery, pours a pale golden (like ginger ale) color. No head to speak of. Taste is weak and almost non-existant. Not much to speak of from this offering.

This was a bit better than the Asahi, a bit softer on the taste buds, a bit more enjoyable going down. But it still is not a drink to savor, to hold in your mouth and get the full flavor before letting it slide down. Went better with the tapas we ordered and I sipped it through the first part of the meal. This beer complimented the food better and I guess was more to my western taste. Still a bit thin for me.

Appearance: Clear golden with a long-lasting white head that left plenty of lacing.

Smell: Very little.

Taste: Malty up front and a little sweet, followed by moderate dry bitterness. Aftertaste is gone within seconds.

Mouthfeel: Highly carbonated and medium thickness.

Overall: I am generally not a fan of lagers, but this one is my favorite so far (primarily because I can actually taste it). It has more malt flavor, bitterness, and body than something like Stella or Bud Light. It's still too bland for me to drink on its own, but goes well with sushi. The right tool for the right job!
