Its high time I wrote a review praising this place. Most beer geeks in the region only seem to know about Wiseguys. Of course, if you want the good stuff from Wiseguys, you have to sit through 3 hours of Wiseguys University.
St. John Liquors has a friendly and knowledgeable staff, whether it be beer, wine, or other forms of alcohol. They also actually have Three Floyds in stock (except Zombie Dust because that does not exist in stores). If there is something else you are looking for, the staff is willing to help you get it. For example, I wanted to make sure I did not miss out on Bourbon Barrel Quad by Boulevard this year. The staff set aside a bottle for me.
The singles section is a big bonus. I like trying beers that are little more weird than most. Going to St. John, I don't need to get stuck with a sixer of something I do not like. Prices are also very fair on singles and regular selections. I generally stop in weekly, just to stock the cellar.

St. John Wine and Spirits- Friendly knowledgable staff, excellent craft beer selection, monthly tastings- enough said! Except I need to say more.
The staff knows their stuff, whether it be wine pairings, or which new brew matches my pallet. The ownership is generous not only in providing many tasting opportunities, but also philanthropicly in the local community.
Weekly wine specials along with an amazing singles craft beer selection keeps me coming back, even if the price point is a little higher in some catagories compared to the local supermarket.
Definitely recommend stopping in for a Wednesday or Saturday tasting, and don't forget to get on the email list.

St John Wine and Spirits, located near the Gates of St John subdivision, in St John, Indiana, is a hidden gem in south Lake County. The staff and ownership are very friendly folks. St John Wine and Spirits has been developing a very strong selection of craft beers. One benefit I really like is that they have a great selection of singles, so trying a variety of different brews doen't end up costing an arm and a leg. This establishment is a plus stop and is highly reccomended to the Northwest Indiana Beer Advocates.
