Stellar, awesome vibe, outstanding taplist served by an engaging and knowledgable staff. Food is excellent, eclectic bar fare, awesome apps and just an overall craft beer and foodie destination. Completely recommend.

It was really crowded when I went (a couple nights before Christmas) and as such it took awhile for the bartender to get my drink order. Also had to wait quite awhile to be seated at a table with a few friends. However, the beer selection was superb and the food was top notch, so I can forgive those other minor complaints, which hopefully were only specific to that particular night.

Decent crowd for 8 o,clock on a Monday night. We were seated right away at a table with benches, so 2 others joined us, which was no big deal.

I liked that you could pick anything off the draft menus for a flight and it was the same price ($7 for 3 or $14 for 6). I needed one more to round out my flight and the server suggested I try a sour that I wasn't familiar with, which turned out to be very good. He also pointed out it was a great value as it was the most expensive beer on tap. I always appreciate a recommendation.

We just had the hot pretzel appetizer, which was good. It came with 3 different dipping sauces.

The selection was well rounded and I got to try some Kuhnhenn beers, which was new for me. The DRIPA was very good.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would come back the next time in the Detroit area.

--My review imported from Yelp--

I've been wanting to come here for quite a long time, but finally actually went for my first time. I almost gave it five stars, but there are a few very minor reasons for me not quite giving it that extra push.

Alright first of all, we got there at a little past 8 on a Friday. The parking is free after 8, so that's a plus. The wait, we were told, would be 45 minutes to an hour, and it took basically that long to finally get a seat. There were about 11 groups ahead of us, but more than half left ... I figure they saw that there wasn't any Bud Light on the menu, so they said "To hell with this!" and walked out the door. We wound up getting seated in the back of the restaurant away from the bar and everything. I thought it would suck, but there were two huge TVs with the Tigers' game on, so I was happy with that.

The waitress (Lanae ... have no idea if that's spelled correctly or if that's even what her name was. Renee, maybe? Lanae, I think... oh well.) explained the whole drink menu to us, which I wasn't expecting. Thankfully, it seems like One-Eyed Betty's only likes to hire people that know their shit... I hate going to places where a person has no idea what in the hell an IPA is.

The food? Oh, it was fine and dandy. This is part of why I knocked off part of a star though... we ordered pretzels, but never got them (turned out to be a good thing. This place has pretty big portions...), and my friend ordered a pork belly sandwich but got a portabello sandwich. He was too stupid to realize until he was almost finished that there was no pork on it... I guess that's a good thing though? I know portabello mushrooms can sometimes taste "meaty", but damn! "Portabello" and "Pork belly" can sound kind of sort of maybe similar in a loud restaurant, so I don't blame her for messing that up. I got myself the burger (awesome), onion rings (above average, but not spectacular), and beer cheese soup (tasty, but $6 is pretty pricey). Food was about what I had expected -- far better than typical bar food, but not legendary.

I also got a flight of six beers for $14 ... I'm not sure how many ounces were in each glass, but it was probably about four. For the price, and with the selection they had, I HAD TO GET THE DAMN FLIGHT. As it turned out, I made some good decisions -- only one beer that I decided to get wasn't that great.

I wanted to give five stars to Betty's. I really did. The service was good considering how busy they were and how long the weight was, the waitress was knowledgeable, and the food was delivered damn fast -- too fast as a matter of fact. We wound up getting our soup literally 30 seconds before getting our burgers. The waitress was bothered that another person brought the burgers out at essentially the same time, but it was a minor blemish, if you could even call it that.

One-Eyed Betty's is GREAT! Craft beer? Good area (Ferndale)? Above average service and food? Hell yes. The ambiance, the pinball machines, the many TVs... One-Eyed Betty's isn't flawless, but it is reaaaally close. I'll be going back soon... and YOUR ass should go soon, too... just be warned that you'll be waiting awhile, and you can't make reservations ("TARTAR SAUCE!", I know).

I've been here twice now. Once during a slow afternoon and once during a Friday night rush Both times the food, service, and beer selection were excellent. The pork belly sandwich is especially good paired with your favorite IPA to cut through the delicious pork fat. If you follow them on Twitter or Facebook, you will always know what beers are on deck. They give their customers a say on which beers to acquire with their "New Beer Wednesdays" poll. I will be back again without a doubt.

very nice setup overall nothing on the tap list that would make me drive back from a distance but we happen to be close enough it's a nice little spot. Cool setup great service and really good food. They have a nice selection of Michigan brews mixed in with the out of town stuff but again nothing I can't get or have in my beer collection already. The food is unique and really good try the Grilled Cheese with the Tomato Jam its awesome. If you're in town it's worth checking out for sure and that area of Ferndale has some other fun places and things to do also.
