Appearance: Pours a clear amber color with a one finger head: streaks of lacing
Smell: Piney aromatics with caramel malt tones underpinning
Taste: Bread and caramel forward with piney bitterness building; the finish has some residual sweetness but is primarily reflective of the resinous pine
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A nice West Coaster from south of the border

The colour is a muddy, gray, brown and it has three fingers of yellowish head.
The smell is of pine, citrus, and pineapple.
The taste is a fresh broken resin is pinecone, citrus, and it ends with a big lingering heavy bitterness.
A medium slightly syrupy body with low carbonation.
I bought this one in a bottle from a bar in Tijuana Mexico today, May 31st, 2019. I’m drinking in San Diego California tonight. This is an amazing brew!

Bottled 3-8-19
L: Clear copper. 1 minute post pour has an almost flat head, with some nice sticky lacing.
S: Citrus at the front, with some malty, berry, and fruity for the finish.
T: Malts, citrus and fruity.
F: Very smooth.. creamy MF, fairly high bitterness that just blends in with the malts. No carbonation and no bitterness hangover.
O: A great tasting WC IPA. I love the overall flavors, and the bitterness is extremely well done. Also, being over 2 months old.. there has been no hop drop-off. Well done Insurgente!

I asked the guys at La Belga for two recommendations, and this was suggested to me. I was pretty stunned, far and away the best beer (either on draft or in bottle) I've tried while in Mexico.
Lovely deep golden colour, some haze, good head and lacing. Fresh aroma of bright, citrusy hops.
Plenty of citrusy hops up front, noticeable malt character, followed by a smooth but obvious bitterness. I'm curious if they used Amarillo and Centennial in this one, tastes like it to me. The only downside is that the mouthfeel seems slightly on the thin side, though the flavour is fantastic. This would be a solid craft beer outside of Mexico too, no question. Definitely worth seeking out, or bringing one home to share with friends.

12 oz bottle poured into a water glass in Tulum Mexico.
Golden not much head, but fizzy
Mid Atlantic style IPA with substantial malt and very bitter.
There were a lot of pleasant flowery hops in the nose and flavor.
Not bad for a Mexican IPA.
