From the bottle, it pours a reddish brown color with a modest head, soon reducing to an island and thin ring. In the nose, it is malty with roasted notes. In the mouth, it is roasted and caramel malts, slightly sweetish.

Deep purple color.

Nice white head; strong lace. Very loud as it dissipates!

Smoke and dark plum in the nose; enticing. Unique.

Medium mouthfeel.

Dark fruit flavor; plums, dark cherries. Slight metallic taste; I wonder if this is old. Tart.

Look- quite dark, zero clarity. Little head; faint white lacing when first poured

Smell- Sweet sweet sweet! Malty and alcohol scent. No hop smell

Taste- Sweet alcohol taste- tastes like it smells. Light toffee, cane sugar and caramel tones on the aftertaste

Feel- Very little carbonation, strong and pleasant alcohol taste along with the malts

Overall- Strong and dark . Not great

Dark reddish-brown with a thin and fizzy tan froth.

Aroma of faint gum, grain and black grape.

This one is super sweet with molasses, black grape and burnt sugar. Almost cloying, but not quite.
Medium with noticeable alcohol heat but not overwhelming.

Always love to come upon a new Doppelbock on the shelf, but might pass over this one next time. Then again, I might not.

Pours a clear, mahogany color. 1/4 inch head of an off-white color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong sweet malt, strong alcohol, strong caramel malt, adjunct, and pale malt. Fits the style of a Doppelbock. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, strong alcohol, strong caramel malt, adjunct, hint of wheat, hint of raisin, hint of floral hops, and pale malt. Overall, weak appearance, decent aroma, good complexity and feel, and a decent blend, but the body is lacking due to the adjunct.
