2012 vintage. Coppery red and crystal clear, this one jumps right into the nose with currant, caramel, clove and a little banana. Taste goes a slightly different direction, as there is an immediate sweet cherry that morphs into a barley fueled biscuity yeast bubble gum banana finish. Body is light to medium with a quickly fading finish that leaves a sacharin sweet feeling on the tongue.

waxed bottle from purchase
Pours effervescent bright copper with no head/lacing, but ample carbonation roiling the thick surface. Smells of molasses heavily, noticeable honey notes, with a toffee fruitiness to finish. Taste is extremely balanced and smooth for 14%- molases with hints of bitter chocolate, honey, with some sweet sugarcane picked up on the sides of the tongue. Mouthfeel is thick, smooth, very well balanced, carbonation is present and carries the sweetness well. This is a rare beer in that all of the flavors play beautifully and overall this beer is well balanced and very complex.
I wish I had more bottles of this, but alas it was a one-off brewing. I must admit, I was concerned about the "malt liquor" title on BA, and remember fresh it was not very bueno, but this ~8 year old 14% bruiser has mellowed out beautifully by now.

Found one bottle of this randomly on a road trip in January 2013, been aging since then.
A - a clear cedar red-brown, head fizzled almost immediately but to be expected given the ABV (and possibly the age), but a steady stream of carbonation rises from the bottom of the glass
S - plumb and raisin, toffee and general candy sweet aroma, slightly musty
T - sticky sweet flavours of candied plumbs, mild apricot, caramel malt, mild woody flavour, and a generally sweet finish
M - sticky sweet throughout, just a little flat but nothing serious, sticky mouth coating finish, no real trace of 14% ABV until waaay late when your insides feel warm and fuzzy
O - ridiculously drinkable for its heft, the sweetness is big but creates a nice stance against the alcohol, not sure if the extra aging made any difference since I only found the one bottle, but a quality brew either way
