Gifted by @PatrictCT. Dark, frothy head, minimal lacing. Smell of roasted malt, rye, chocolate. Taste is roasty and malty, with a strong rye presence. Medium body, mouth watering, alcohol is disguised well. The rye really makes this a pleasing experience.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Can was purchased at the brewery about a month ago.
the beer pours a jet black color with almost not light passing through my glass when I hold it up in the air.
A dense tan head of 3 cm foams up even with a relatively gentle pour. This foam fades to a sturdy edge layer and leaves tight lacing after each sip. A few straggly strings of bubbles rest on the surface as well.
Aroma on this brew is malty with dark chocolate and some roasted notes mixing with a bit of spicy rye bread note that sits in the background. I dont get any real hop presence and the booze is well hidden to on this 9.4% brew.
Flavor is also malty and fairly robust. get dark chocolate, some raisin and a bit of roasted malt up front. This rolls to some molasses and a bit of that rye bread spicy character in the middle. This rolls to a bit of brown sugar and the rye that lingers after each swallow. I dont get any alcohol warming or peppery bitterness. The hops also fail to show up.
This is a pretty solid imperial stout that also drinks fairly easy. I would buy this again if I saw the cans.

The look and smell were ok, the taste was chalky and spicy, too much carb and thin feeling.
