"....large quantities of chocolate malt from America, England and Belgium...wheat adds creaminess..."
Pours pitch black with thick tan head.
Aroma is sweet chocolate, cocoa, cake batter, roasted malt.
Flavor is initially full of dark roasted malt, chocolate, dark fruits. Then a nice touch of drying hops. Well balanced.
Mouthfeel isn't thin, but it could be a pinch fuller. Overall, nothing to complain about here. Another excellent brew. One that i have been waiting for from this brewer for a while.
First appearance 3-15-13.

Limited offering from Relic. Picked up a growler.
Pour is deep brown to black. Just a shimmer of off white head, fading rapidly.
Nose is very subtle with some hints of espresso and dark chocolaty malt.
Taste is rich and robust. Gentle coffee followed by robust, roasty malt. A little hint of espresso, and a bit of sharp, flinty hop at the end.
Feel is medium bodied. Thick enough to know it's a porter, but thin enough to want more.
Great example of a classic style. Flavors are nice, but could have been a bit more pronounced for my tastes. Would also have liked the body a little more potent and full. But all in all a very enjoyable brew.
