Stopped in around 2 pm on a Thursday, and was pleasantly surprised to find several other patrons enjoying the small taproom on a grey, dreary day. It's an intimate space, which could be tight if there was a large crowd. There is a bar with 8 - 12 taps, with an adjoining room with 3 tables. Along the wall behind the bar were hundreds of bottles of whiskey, something special that they offer. I was there for the beer. I purchased a Halcyon Winter Ale, a tasty english brown ale; and then moved on to something a little stronger - Violet Ray, a double dry hopped IPA, made with 80% citra and 20% mosiac hops. Abv of 7.1%, good citrus fruit flavor with a nice finish.

I was able to purchase a mixed six pack, so I will be able to sample more of their beers at home. They fill growlers too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Plainville-Southington-Bristol area.

They just expanded their tap room and it's got a ton more room now. Very nice because before there was barely room for 15-20 people. The beer is really good for the most part, and they also have the biggest whiskey selection in the area (along with wine and a variety of hard ciders) which makes this a great place for anyone.

Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

This is a small location, but worth stopping at if in the vicinity. I had first heard about it searching here at BA, then found some bottles of Sorceress at a nearby store. The first time I dropped in to the brewery, it was early afternoon, I had planned to just fill two growlers. I believe one was Sorceress and the other Flaxen Foal. The friendly staff insisted I check out the list of what was on tap, and I was impressed with what I tried at that time. Thrice, Ryddle and probably the Flaxen Foal were what I had sampled. Other times I had stopped in just for growler fills, but recently stopped for more samples on a Friday afternoon; the place was quite busy, people inside and also right outside the door as it was a nice day. New to me were Blackheart, Cygnet, Points West and Simcot samples. All were very good, and then a glass of the Cygnet. The only bad thing was that I had not properly prepared for the trip, and should have also had my growlers to fill.

I visited today for the second time I'm in the last year candy tend to enjoy the style and variety of beer that is offered here. I am careful to suggest that this is a Farmhouse style brewery, but the taste and sense are there then bring me back to a time when beer was made at home with those ingredients left in surplus. Fruity, sweet, aromatic, slightly sour funkalicious, if you will.

Every offering they had today I enjoyed thoroughly, in some I loved. I really enjoy the slightly fruity, poignantly aromatic offers commonly offered here, but I always wonder if I'd enjoy a whole glass, rather than just a taste or two?

I tend to be a fan of Belgian style beers, whitbeirs, Farmhouse and Saison's, so my ratings will tend to be a bit higher than others, but I think Relic Brewing their niche justice.

Stopped in here and was very surprised how small the facility was. The taproom was about the size of a normal living room. They has several beers on tap that weren't anything super special. The people there were nice though.

Always something new to make your trip worthwhile. Mark is super knowledgeable about his craft and loves to talk "shop" with everyone that stops in. I love that he is willing to experiment with his recipes. A recent twist with his Huntsman Oatmeal stout using coffee beans resulted in The Double Huntsman and IMHO the best beer to come out of Relic so far.

Relic has something for everyone at great prices. In addition to beer, you can also pick up some nice glassware and other swag.

I agree with fellow posters that seating would be a welcomed addition. Until this is resolved, my husband and I have found that Big Steve's (turn left out of the parking lot and drive about 1 minute) allows you to bring in your Relic bottles and growlers and eat and drink there. The staff there is SUPER friendly.

I am already looking forward to my next visit!
