Very clean tasting beer. Similar in level of inoffensiveness to others such as Stella Artois. Slight citrus undertones but it isn't overpowering.

L: Pours a hazy straw yellow color with a small white head and several fingers of lacing on the glass.

S: Lemon and coriander mixed with grain.

T: Lemon and coriander, some spice from the Belgian yeast, crisp and easy drinking.

F: Creamy feel and light body, easy drinking.

O: This is a pretty standard Belgian wit.

An unfortunately disappointing witbier. I've tried many witbiers (as they are probably my favourite style) but the Village wit under performs in almost every aspect. Firstly, the beer lacks the common elements of a witbier; despite the label saying that the beer was flavoured with coriander and orange peel, these flavours never really present themselves. The second problem is that it has an overly present wheat taste. The beer tastes more like a Canadian prairie wheat beer than it does a witbier (maybe because that's what it actually is) and this would be less of an issue if I wasn't reviewing it as Villages' rendition of a witbier. If you do buy this beer, buy it as a wheat beer and not a witbier so you're not disappointed in what it actually tastes like. Better than coop gold, but mediocre in comparison to everything else.

This is a very subdued Witbier. It looks nice, and was well presented in a cool Village glass at Bottlescrew Bill's. It is nice and cloudy, almost milky in appearance. The expected citrus and coriander wafted up to my nose. The flavour is quite tame and dry, overall. It does not do anything wrong, it just doesn't jump up and down, saying "stick your lips and tongue in me!"
