A - Creamy head, amber hue.

S - Earthy, caramel, yeasty rye.

T - Bready. Can definitely taste the rye but it's missing something crucial. Taste evaporates after a bit.

M - Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Drinkable in that way.

O - Okay, nothing great. Doubt I would get it again, but it works as a sessionable rye beer.

a rye beer of exceptional quality. tried to make it to the brewery but they werent open at the time. lucky to find this elsewhere in dallas. its slightly darker on the malt than just the pale rye styles, not caramelized, but more of a crystal rye malt, a little more depth to it, or maybe its pale rye with a richer barley malt, either way, its a hazy light amber color, lighter than that even, copper i suppose, with a thick half inch of tanner head on it. the nose is rye all the way, and quite a bit of spicy hops to match, cascade maybe? tough to call it, but its decidedly american in complexion. the rye really leads the way in the sensory experience, its peppery and fresh, slightly tannic but still really smooth, and in high enough proportion to be tasted over the sweeter barley malt. the grain bill is a great success. almost doesnt need all the hops with the balance achieved in the grain. the mouthfeel rules, super smooth and creamy, too soft for the punchy flavors almost, drinks like a pillow, nice and dry, really neat velvety vibe to it for a beer that usually feels nothing like this. pretty darn original and delicious beer overall, i was a huge fan of this. fantastic use of rye in a little bolder of a beer.
