look: 4.25 | smell: 3 | taste: 3.25 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.25

Appearance- Pours up a massive amount of foamy head which has excellent retention. The head is a glistening, pure cotton white while the body is a medium amber which appears pale to medium amber in the light. Retention is obnoxious.

Nose- Almost minimal at this point. Swirling shows faint notes of citrus (just orange and lemon) and some nice peach. Rather delicate and seems to suggest a lack of experience in using aromatic hops. Light bubblegum after swirling.

Taste- A little more interesting that the nose. Some mango, peach and grapefruit. There is a ton of woodiness which blends in with caramel to form a flavor that doesn't mix well with the distinct fruit flavors. Not surprising from a new brewery but still, not a bad attempt. Some honey. There are some interesting notes in the flavor profile but they lack integration. The notes that seem to have presence tend to quickly fade and render this beer and easy drinking “imperial” that turns out to be a pretty boring one. Dull tingle on the tongue from a pine and resin finish. As it opens up, more and more grapefruit appears.

Mouthfeel- Between light and medium bodied. A little harsh as far as the carbonation is concerned. Somewhat of a weird, dry finish that doesn't work well for an IIPA.

Drinkability- Isn't bad and doesn't do anything really wrong. I just isn't an interesting beer. 4.50 a pint is okay for this beer.

Overall- Mediocre to slightly above average. Doesn't offend. I would give it a try- this is a new brewery so I don't want to be too critical.
