Dark, with a tan head. Dark fruit and some musty notes on the nose. If I didn't know better, I'd say it must be British based on the aroma. A hint of wine-like ethanol. Toast, chocolate, bread dough, fruity, musty, and wine notes in the flavour. A hint of gentle bitterness. Nice and smooth. Overall an interesting and flavourful beer, but highly drinkable. A nice change from all the Helles I've had lately. Good stuff.

Pours dark amber with fluffy white head. Smells malty, hint of taffee. Fairly crisp mouthfeel, quaffable. Taste is lightly sweet, some crisp bitterness and a tiniest hint of toastyness. Bready, bit of caramel. Real beer.

So, I may be a bit biased on this one. poured from tap while on vacation in Germany. Cooper look, a decent head. Malty taste, a bit if caramel maybe. Super happy I was in Germany when I had this.

From Latiendadelacerveza. In Bavaria hefe glass. Playing Avernum 2. Malty. Without having specially outstanding flavors, it has a no defects and a great feel and drinkability that make it really sessionable

Even tjough people brought it down, it is way better than say the Radeberger that they praised on the contrary. But of course don't get me wrong, this is nowhere good. It was just not that sickening. It is like colored sugary water. Noting that I would really like to try again. A mediocre thing, nothing more - or am I overvaluating it?

500ml bottle served into a nonic pint
Look: Dark amber/coppery pour - pretty much clear with no trace of sediment etc. Slightly off-white, bubbly head with decent retention. Reminds me a bit of a typical pint of British bitter.
Smell: Slightly eggy(!) - think a slightly less sulphurous version of Bass with a fair bit of roasted malt and grain. Faintly resinous, but the malts and grains dominate.
Taste: Slightly sweet and earthy with that tang of sulphur in a barely-there sort of way. Some hop character but there's no way this could be called a hop bomb by any stretch of the imagination. Slightly herbal tang. Flavour-wise there's a surprising amount going on.
Feel: Quite thin and fizzy, despite the relative lack of head retention - despite being German I am again reminded of the traditional 'British pint'. Easy drinking and surprisingly refreshing.
Overall: A bit 'meh' - it's not bad, but there are a lot of better (and worse) altbiers out there. A good starting point, perhaps, but nothing astoundingly special as German beers go.

Appearance: Amber, clear, effervescent; medium-small frothy egg shell white head, long lasting
Aroma: Malty; slightly vinous; light hops; light roasted grains
Taste: Juicy malt, fairly sweet; pretty thin overall mouthfeel; tastes a lot like a British brown ale (sulfury); smooth, but not particularly noteworthy
Remarks: Did not score A, T, S, M at that time; disregard those scores
