Pours out to a light clear goldenrod with a head that subsides rather quickly. Lots of bubbles on the side of the glass. Nothing too special to look at, even though the bottle it came with is really cool.

The smell is definitely citrusy, sweet and of lemon. This, paired with the beer, is surprisingly appealing.

Upon tasting it, a lemony (with hint of apricot) taste washes over, then subsides to a light malty finish. The hops aren't too overpowering, and really allows the sweet lemon taste to shine through.

The mouthfeel is rather watery, with a decent amount of carbonation.

In terms of drinkability, this takes a bit of a hit, because I can see how this can quickly be overpowering. However, this is still an interesting beer and is worth a try!

A: Pours clear golden with a large airy, but still compact and thick white head. Dissipation leaves nice lacings.

S: Lots of lemons. Malt and bitter hops. Only faint sweetness. Dry.

T: Sweet malt followed by dry lemons. Bready. Bitter hops.

M: Bitter and dry aftertaste. Light in body as well as in aftertaste.

O: Probably one of the more beer-like Radlers. The sweetness is held back and the malt isn't overpowered by the lemonade.

My brother-in-law brought me back a few of these from Germany. This is the first radler-style beer that I have tried and I was not sure what to expect. It pours out of the flip-top bottle with a moderately airy white head and straw yellow body. The aroma is very sweet and candy-like but not artificial or cloying. The taste is incredibly sweet and tastes like a mild wiess or witbier with sugar cubes dissolved. This is surely not a prime example of fine german beer, but I cannot believe how refreshing it is. It is almost like having a glass of sprite with a touch of beer added. I love that this is also such a low abv and I could imagine having a few on a hot day during a bocce tournament....but may need to grab a regular beer after one or two. Interesting to say the least and I am glad that I had a chance to try one.

”Radler” is a traditional German drink consisting of pilsner and (more or less sweet) lemonade. This one is made of 50% Flensburger Pilsener and 50% dry lemonade.

The colour is pale straw yellow. The firm two finger head is white and airy; it leaves some fine lacing.

The smell is dominated by a lemon/lemon peel smell, some sweetness and fresh bitter yeasty beer.

The taste is at first very sweet but it develops into a dryer flavour of sour-sweet lemons. It fades, too leaving room for some lightly bitter flavours of malt and bitter hops. The aftertaste is balanced with some sweetness, some lemon curd and a mild bitterness.

The carbonation is a little milder than in the average lager or lemonade. Small very fresh bubbles. The liquid is very bubbly, foaming a little in the mouth.

The taste is a little too mild, I think. I have had other Radlers that had some more character. Otherwise, this is a very thirst drenching drink for hot summer days.
