Bottle poured into shaker.

A- Pale straw, crystal clear. White head is bubbly, but doesn't hang very well.

S- Grassy, grainy. Bit of spicy hop aroma.

T- Grainy, bright grassy and spicy hops. Clean.

M- Body light, crisp finish. Slight linger of bitterness.

O- Pretty good classic pilsner. Easy drink, clean, crisp, and the noble hops are showcased.

Pours a very nice clear gold with a finger of white head. Smell is incredibly faint, malt and bread. Tastes of malt, bread, yeast, and citrus zest. Medium-light creamy body with medium carbonation. Overall it's a very refreshing pilsener.

$ 2.58 (including discount and tax)/11.2 oz flip top ($ 0.231/oz).
BB 1.30.18. Stored at beer fridge temperature, served at 50 degrees into a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – grainy, some bitterness.
Head – average (Maximum three cm, aggressive pour), white, creamy, average retention, diminishing to a three to four mm ring and a rocky partial layer.
Lacing – good. Broken frothy rings which meld into the ring.
Body – golden yellow, clear, effervescent.
Flavor – bitter and grainy
Palate – light, watery, lively carbonation.

This is a passable German pilsner, maybe a little too bitter for the malt, but that could be a result of the serving temperature. Still, I’m glad I tried it and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it again.

Appearance 3.75, Aroma 3.75, Flavor 3.75, Palate 4, Overall 3.75.

This is an old favourite of mine but I'd not drunk it in ages and so bought a crate of it from germany for old times sake.

Pours bright light gold, nice head. Looks great.

Herbal hops with slight lemon hints, underlying bready malts. Nice.

Taste brings some zest, hint of lime. The malt is bready and in the background but not hiding. mineral middle extending to the finish and a decent bitterness. Drying finish, mild bitterness lingers

High carb, medium body.

A good North German pils, I'd probably prefer more bitterness and a touch more malt flavour, but I doubt the extra bitternesss would get them any more sales :)

Ah, yes -- the infamous Flensburger Pils. Revered by some, despised by others. Never had it myself, so I took the opportunity when I saw 4-packs in one of the larger chains. For what it's worth, I enjoyed Flensburger Dunkel pretty well, let's see how the Pilsner stacks up.

Stubby, brown swing-top bottle, best by 09.06.17 on the back label. Poured into my short Becher.

L -- Clear gold with a thick white head that holds up well.

S -- Light, crackery malts with mild DMS and some faint citrus and herbal spiciness.

T -- Lightly sweet, bready malts up front that quickly give way to herbal and lightly bitter hops. A crackery graininess with yeast accents rounds out the finish, but the herbal bitterness carries prominently into the aftertaste. There's a touch of mineral, nearly bordering on astringent, that lingers through the aftertaste.

F -- Mouthfeel is crisp and dry with a light body.

O -- There's a lot of debate over this beer in the Germany forum and I'm not sure what argument the naysayers may be using against this beer (probably has more to do with marketing than overall quality of the beer), but to my Pilsner-loving palate this is a pretty solid example of the style -- even bottled, Pasteurized (more than likely), and exported.

An interesting comparison beer to the Flens Pils is the All Day IPA I tried last week: both beers are nearly the same ABV, yet the Flens has the right amount of malt to just balance the hoppiness and still let that character be king. All Day's lack of any malt body turns it into hop-water. All day? Yes, I'll have another Flensburger, please.

Flensburger Brauerei GmbH Und Co. "Flensburger Pilsner"
,33cl swing top brown glass bottle

Flensburger Pilsner is a solid version done in the north-German style. Crisp, clean, boldly bitter, and somewhat hoppy in both the aroma and flavor (grassy, herbal, and lightly spicy). The grainy malt comes across clearly, and it finishes dry, bitter, and hoppy. Medium-light in body and crisp with a standard carbonation level.

Always drink it from the bottle - always served without a glass in Hamburg. Love it cold, refreshing, tasty, satisfying plop when you open the bottle. A favourite in St Pauli.

A sharp Pils. High biting hop but the hop bite is dry and doesn't linger. Crisp and clean. Refreshing. If you like sharp biting hop, come here. Basic pils.

Served cold from 330ml flip-top brown bottle.

L) Pale yellow colour, very clear, light carbonation evident, thin bubbly film only.

S) Slightly damp hop odour. Other than that, not much.

T) Surprisingly deep malty flavour, and chunky bitterness, pleasantly balanced. Nutty flavours, the quality of ingredients is evident.

F) Easy drinker, lightish carbonation, no bitterness in the aftertaste.

O) Good North German pilsner, recommended but every one knows that already!

L: gives a clear straw yellow color when I pour from the classical bottle. Gives a small fingertip high top of head that disolves rapidly, some lacings on the glass.

S: bready malt, herbs, lemon peels and hops.

T&F: follows much as the nose,a sweet citric feel with malts in the background , the hops get noticeable in the middle and the finish.have a dry and bitter finish in the aftetaste. I would like more bite in it, but else I think it was a decent pilsner

O: a good and drinkable german pilsener. Sure is better pilsners out there , and this one was not extremly exiting, but all in all good and easy drinking.
