The body appears a deep copper-orange hue with a thick, foamy, off-white head; clinging rings of foam on the glass marking every sip. The aroma is a tame orange/lemon/pine scent. The flavor has a zesty, tart/citrus character with a decent hop bitterness underneath things. Medium bodied; crisp and dry finish.

Reading some of the other reviews, I was anticipating a rather lackluster IPA. The bitterness and hop zing of a good IPA are there although the malt component keeps a tad too much in the background. Also, I initially wondered where the aroma was, but after allowing the beer to sit and open up a bit, I found some very satisfying hop aromas greeting my snozz (although not as bold and impressive as a west coast IPA). So, all things considered, this is a distinctive enough and enjoyable beer.

16 oz can. Pours slightly hazy copper red with a medium creamy light tan head that retains fairly well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet sugary malts with some banana Belgian yeast and grassy hops.

The flavor is sweet cola caramel malts with lots of banana and some spice. It has a decent bitter finish but not much hop flavor. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with creamy texture.

Overall, a bitter Belgian. I don't really get much out of the hops other than bitterness.

Wasn't a huge fan of this one. Didn't realize until after it was a Belgian IPA... ahh that's why it was so sweet. Regardless, very hazy unfiltered beer, bitter hop character doesn't come through quite as much as I'd like, not the best balance.

Look: Pretty reddish/orange, slightly amber. Nice pale head. Looks really nice.
S: Hoppy and yeasty, quite pungent.
T: Citrusy, grapefruity, extremely hoppy (typical of IPA), spicy like a Belgian,
lingering aftertaste.
F: dry, full mouth feel.
I enjoyed this beer. I liked how it comes in a can.

Poured a golden color with a white head of foam. Nice head retention and it left sticky rings of lace. It smelled piney with sweet caramel. It was well balanced with a bitter hop presence. Great balance. It was crisp and very smooth.

Attractive head on the cloudy red-amber brew in the Tripel Karmeliet tulip. Plenty of lacing. Appealing nose of leather and flowery hops. Winey hint with the malty mouthfeel.

Slightly sweet, certainly not sugary. It tastes like it wants to be a DIPA, but the sharpish sensation is in another dimension. It tastes smoky with a bitter campfire burnt taste on the edges. Warm malt with a mineral tang. Bitter aftertaste, though not really bitter for an IPA.

I think this is a quite drinkable brew with a leafy intensity. From the 16 oz can purchased at Wilbur's in Fort Collins.

16oz Can Served Into Tulip

A – Pours a deep ruby amber, quite hazy, big tall white head forms and leaves great thick lacing behind it.

S – Smells intensely yeasty and hoppy, quite dry and bitter.

T – Juicy hop notes, lead way to a greatly complex yeast characteristic.

M – Medium bodied, perhaps a bit thick, but OK.

O – A really nice and yeasty Belgian IPA.

16 oz. Can
Canned On: Aug 15

Poured into a Squatters True Pint glass a very nice cloudy amber color, very nice carbonation, with a HUGE three-finger foamy white head, which also leaves some thick/foamy sticky lacing. The nose is hoppy, slightly malty, slight citrus. The taste is pretty nice hoppy, slightly malty, citrusy. Medium body, with a very nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a tasty brew.

From notes:

On tap @ the source.

Ruddy brown with a dirty white froth. Smells of yeast and hops. Tastes of of pine, faint caramel, grapefruit and rind. Medium in body and very easy on the palatte. This one hit the spot and was the perfect precursor for a night of Denver Pub hopping.
