Look: Huge billowing head from even a slow pour (4 finger head +). It has a pale golden yellow color that is quite cloudy. The head diminishes a bit, but was left with plenty of lacing. There is a very nice glow with unusually large bubbles.

Smell: Smells of tart fruit and light malts. Has a nice earthy and grassy aroma.

Feel: Thinner, light bodied beer, but very effervescent on the tongue. Only a slight dryness that quickly fades.

Taste: First notes are of a tart green apple that quickly moves out of the way to let in the sweet yeasty earthiness. Among the other flavors are rich fruity flavors of peach and white grape.

Overall: This saison is quite impressive. I have not expanded much into the sours and saisons world (not liking sour beers). This one is so rich and sweet that it quickly pushes through the initial sour burst.

Bomber poured into a tulip glass. Color is Autumn leaf yellow, with a medium amount of ivory head that leaves a small amount of lacing on the glass.

Stone fruit dominates the nose, with ripe yellow peach and apricot dominating, with some slight yeastiness and wet straw behind.

Palate is creamy, refined. Big fruit is confirmed from the nose, with a fair amount of brown baking spices, with ginger being prevalent. Finishes like a saison should, chalky, minerally, and refreshing, with a very mild amount of bitterness.

Spectacular new world saison.

22 oz. Bomber

Pours a very nice yellowish color, very nice carbonation, with a very nice thick/creamy one-finger white head, which leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, spicy, with some banana/cloves. The taste is malty, yeasty, spicy, nice touch of banana/clove. Medium body. Overall, a very tasty brew.

Cloudy opaque orange color, very nice thick foamy head which retains well and produces some very nice lacing.

The aroma is sweet light malt with hints of plum or apricot and hay.

The taste is complex - biscuits, bananas, grapes, spices (ginger, cloves), a bit of grass or hay, and a nice light malt background.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied, very effervescent, but smooth and very drinkable.

Altogether a very brew for anytime of the year but especially fall.

Appearance: Poured into a tulip glass. Brings up a bright white foam as expected which dies off, but never completely goes away. No lacing whatsoever. Hazy and slightly off-color.

Aroma: Nothing to admire here, maybe the least of this beer's qualities.

Taste: Sweet tasting without being cloying; tangy and citric. Mellow up front, finishing with a most pleasant bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Nicely carbonated and smooth.

Good stuff. A favorite style right now, and this is a good one.

Rich and tangy, bold-flavored brew. Handsome amber color on the golden side. Modest foam in the Petrus goblet. Plenty of carbonation on the tongue that stays around for the party in your mouth. Agreeable aroma of fermenting pineapple with a whiff of the barnyard.

There is an abundance of malty substance with a browned, toasty taste. Intensely fruity as it warms up, with an increasingly bitter edge as the yeast flavors take over. Apples and pear skins, apricots. Quite a dose of the meaty flavor as well.

Overall this is sweet and powerful with a snootfull of aromatics. This is hugely drinkable with a dry finish and lingering fruity tang. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Grapevine Liquors in Denver.

22oz into a pint

A - Pours a bright golden color. Little bit hazy and thick. White head formation - not much lacing.

S- A nice belgian saison profile, light amounts of citrus and spiciness - coriander, white pepper. Hints of pilsner malts sneak through the yeast.

T- Starts off smooth and sweet, mostly a pilsner malt profile. The light graininess seems to give it away. Mid-stream more spicy flavors appear, citrus and some clove.. maybe even cardamom. Finishes clean and sweet. Not much of a farmhouse funk here, but it has the nice sweetness and smoothness of a tripel.

M - Full bodied, thick and sweet. Sticky. Not much for alcohol warmth.

O/D - A good beer. I think it shows how hard it is to do a modern replicable saison. THe funk is nearly impossible to do in a repeatable fashion, so we end up with these nice clean almost tripels.
Worth a try regardless of the opinion.

From a bomber. Pours a cloudy amber, thin off-white head, a few spots of lace. Smell: floral and herbal, lightly bread-y, grainy, fruity note. Taste: herbal, peppery, snappy grain drowned in a lot of pale malt…honey and notes of peach skin and overripe red apple.
Feel: medium-plus body, growing pillowy carbonation. Pretty nice.
