22 oz bottle. Pours ruby amber with a thin fizzy off-white head that quickly goes to a thin film that leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is subdued - some dark fruits, cardboardy grains, and some alcohol.

The flavor is sweet sugary malts with some dark fruits and medium bitterness and alcohol in the finish. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery.

Overall, a rather bland and thin quad.

22oz bottle, from the GABF specials at the Liquor Mart on south Colorado Blvd in Denver.

This beer pours a slightly hazy, dark bronzed amber hue, with one measly finger of weakly foamy, and mostly bubbly off-white head, which leaves some random island group lace around the glass as things slowly sink away.

It smells of pungent earthy yeast, semi-sweet pastry-like pale and caramel malt, candi sugar, muddled light orchard fruit - mostly of the stone pit variety - and piney, leafy, and leafy hops - all under the hegemony of a hovering metallic booziness. The taste is gritty pale and caramel malt, acrid dead yeast, thinned-out black fruit - plums, prunes, and cherries, all, dosed with too much agua - and a now retreating leafy, weedy hoppiness, perhaps because of the stalking booziness.

The bubbles are quite active, in a generally understated frothy manner, the body on the low side of medium weight for the style, and so-so smooth, the yeast kind of being a bitch about it, if y'all really wanna know. It finishes on the drying side of things, though the caramel malt may have a bit to say about that.

Not the most complex version of the style, or really anything in the ballpark of yer average (hah!) monastery offering of the same, but drinkable enough for what it is - a newbie introduction into a world of boozy, malty, yeasty, and fruity Belgian wellness. Good on these downtown Denver denizens for giving this one a serious go.

Pours a murky brown-burgundy with a thin layer of fizzy khaki head on top. Aroma is apple, cinnamon, dark fruits, and clove. Flavor profile is apple and dark fruits up front. The dark fruits become more apparent later in the flavor profile, mixing with molasses, and caramel notes giving it a sweet finish. Mouth feel is medium in thickness and still, with only a slight touch of carbonation graininess to it. Overall, a sugary sweet sipping quadruple. It doesn't drink super thick or heavy.

Served in a 12oz snifter from a 22oz bottle.

Mew, not alot goin on for a quad. Pretty good medicanal, esters from yeast. But malt/belgian sugar complexity is not there.

Got this 22oz bomber from a trade with Jasonrm72.

Poured into a snifter.

A - hazy amber, barely a half finger of head, dissipates quickly. Little lacing.

S: booze, oak, sweetness, sugar, and fruit (plum and raisins)

T: vanilla, sweet caramel, raisins, and tropical fruit. Thought it was very sweet for a Belgian but not complaining.

M: Light-bodied, light carbonation, and sugary.

O: Extremely drinkable and great quad. Would like to try this again in the future. Thanks, Jason!
