So sweet and so good. Called a brown ale but seems darker to me.

I am new to beer drinking and still working on my taste buds. The heavy mouthfeel of this beer comes in second only to Southern Tier's Creme Brûlée. The sweetness is a good thing for me as I continue to pursue others in this vein. The hazelnut is well to the fore in this beer/ale, as is light coco, some coffee, and what tastes like honey richness for me. Thank goodness I live in Cincinnati, because it's almost always available here! Don't be put off by the price point, 14.58, because it will be well worth it if sweet is your thang!

Poured into a 16 oz Troegs Snulip not sure when it was bottled. Pours a beautiful mahogany with a two finger off white head that leaves behind patches of sticky lace and takes its time settling into a thick ring off bubbles.

Smell is ameretto, toffee, vanilla bean, dates, brown sugar, and a hint of oak.

Taste follows ameretto, worthers candy, roasty brown sugar, dark fruit, and oaky vanilla.

Mouthfeel is almost large, moderate carbonation and it works wonderfully, maybe a little dry, and the fact that this is 10% ABV is surprising and sneaky.

Overall this is really, really good. Just want to crawl inside the glass and never come out. World class and very unique beer, that stands out. Thx @jzeilinger for sharing this American Old Ale with me.

For what this beer, an imperial hazelnut brown ale, it's fantastic and the particular style is nailed. Amazing hazelnut aroma and a bit nutty. Same flavors in the taste with a nice amount of peanut butter roast and coffee creamer. Very drinkable but one you want to savor and enjoy over some time. Bravo!
