And let the Cincinnati mingle begin: as the collaborative efforts of Triple Digit and Blank Slate come together in recipe, it's the venue of Listermann's Manufacturing where the beer is concocted and brewed. The result is a rich Belgian-style IPA of surprisingly bold proportions.

Pouring a strong amber hue, the beer looks like honey in color, especially with its yeasty haze. But much lighter in viscosity, the beer displays certain lightness by releasing a creamy off-white head that retains only moderately and laces lightly with sparse pockets.

Highly complex in aromas, the scent aligns with caramel and honey to start, but then rounds into tropical and citrus fruits before concluding peppery and earthy. It's a complicated scent that's grounded by malty richness.

Flavors mimic what was found in the scent: malty-sweet flavors of caramel and honey is full and satisfying. The fruits of apricot, pear, mango, papaya, orange marmalade, lemon, and cherry start to weave the taste of malt and alcohol together. Spicy alcohols revel its nine percent character that plays modestly of apple brandy.

Yet, its the mouthfeel where the beer suffers most. It's holds firm during taste but there's a lot of unresolved sweetness and body that's forgivable in taste that's less forgiving in texture. It's large sugary feel early is reluctant to budge as the beer tries to adapt to the would-be dry fruit, spice, and hop earthiness. Instead the beer sits dully on the tongue as the carbonation and spice fade away.

I rather like the beer, but its enormity of raw malt taste starts to signify barleywine more so than IPA. Even at larger status, the beer has to resemble the body of IPA.
