16oz can, filled to the brim. How do I know that? An ever so slight tipping to read the label, and a gush of liquid into my lap, that's how. Can't really complain about that, I suppose.

This beer pours a mostly clear, very dark red brick amber colour, with three fingers of densely puffy, thickly foamy spotted beige head, which leaves some decent wide honeycomb lace around the glass as it slowly ticks away.

It smells of mildly roasted, nutty caramel malt, bitter chalky cocoa, and tame leafy, grassy hops. The taste is semi-sweet grainy caramel malt, some generic mixed nuts, a slight lactic sourness, ethereal hints of milk chocolate, and earthy, leafy hops.

The bubbles are fairly restrained, and mostly invisible, the body an adequate medium weight, and actually quite smooth, the oiliness of the nut esters kind in their contribution. It finishes off-dry, the bready caramel malt maintaining its stance, the nuttiness carrying on, and the subtle hops skulking somewhat.

A pleasant enough porter, with allusions to old world London tendencies. I'm a little underwhelmed by the '3 gear' denomination, though - if that's your top gear aspersions, then maybe you have a bit of reformulating to do.

Pours a dark ruby from the pint can, with a huge head of tan bubbles. Lovely lace, too.

Nose is chocolate and roasty. Not bad.

Body here is very light -- even watery. Odd for a porter. Taste is also light. True to the style, though, there's plenty of roasty cocoa malts. Not a bad flavor profile, but far too watery and that makes this seem weak to me

Pours a dark brown with some highlight of amber at the edges. Nose features musty bitter hops, some acrid roast, smells very similar to Alloy. Taste is bitter with stale chocolatey notes, some roast, bitter flavor to finish. Nothing good here. Mouthfeel is thin with high carbonation. This is just as bad as Alloy.

A - Dark black opaque body, lovely lacy head.

S - Roasty nose, coffee.

T - Bitterness, toast and hints of cocoa notes.

M - Light body, spiky.

O - The flavor is harsh, though a pretty beer.

16 oz. can poured into a pint glass

A- Dark chestnut in color with some orange highlights. Light tan head retains fairly low but well, and lacing is great.

S- Burnt toast and chocolate sweetness.

T- A lot of roasted grains with a very subtle caramel sweetness.

M- Medium light body, a little too light, but still smooth. The finish holds a lot of roast.

O- Okay at best. The appearance could be a little darker, roast flavor is almost too much, and the body could be a little thicker.
