The can was really cool at the liquor store and I wanted to support a local brewery (IN).

A - Beautiful gold color with small white bubbles to get a strong head. Great lacing. Very clear.

S - Strong hop nose. Dank hoppiness that I love. Light citrus, some pine, and light floral.

T - Has all the hops from the smell with lots of the C-Hop notes from the list of hops in this great brew. Light complimenting grain flavor but mostly hoppy. Nice finish with nice hop bitterness. Right in the middle of cloying and dry.

M - Moderate to light mouth-feel. Has some bitterness but is mostly clean on the finish. Hoppy but balanced mouth-feel. Perfect carbonation.

Overall, a deliciously flavored IIPA. Great dank hoppiness that rules the brew. I love the hops and the body makes for a delicious brew. Perfect if you like your IIPAs less heavy and full of juicy hops. Definitely gives you a buzz after a pint of 8% DIPA! It's from the Midwest but seems like it should be from the Pacific NW. I could drink these for ever!

Delicious. I had the chance to visit the brewery and it was really cool. I enjoyed most of the beers they offered too. If you are ever in Evansville check them out.

16oz tallboy, sample from the brewery.

Pale amber golden color, good clarity with some pretty killer frothing. Nose is big on the citrus pith, hints of pineapple skin and papaya with some honey-like malt in the back. Pulling rind like hop bitterness, pretty aggressive on the palate but needed for the size of this beer. Lot of hop flavor sticking to my tastebuds ... lingers far into the aftertaste. Warming but not hot, a bit of sweetness underneath from the malt. Dare I say there is some balance here? Love the hop profile, an exceptions DIPA.

Clear golden poor with a slight white head.
Hoppy aroma with pine and plenty of citrus notes.
Tastes of lemon and, huge pine and slight hops
Big pine with, of course a very nice amount of grapefruit and lemon after.
Mouth feel is crisp, dry and a real nice bitterness!
Great beer from. Tim Man

Poured into Tin Man goblet at brewpub a nice amber with solid lace.

Aroma is tropical fruit, pineapple, mango....very good, refreshing start (and on a warm summer afternoon, too). Score some points with aroma.

Taste is mild and balanced. Plenty of hops in here, but not the hop-bomb I'd expect somehow. Still, this proved to be a very enjoyable and tasty IPA. I will definitely revisit on draft, and pick up a 4-pack of cans once available.

And this is a review of the canned version, finally appearing in about November of 2013:

This is a stronger 9%, rather than the 7-something percent of the draft version, but it doesn't fare quite as well.

Pours a clean light amber, with a rich head of white suds. Beautiful lace.

Nose is citrus hops, a little caramel in the malts. Pleasing, to be sure.

Taste is strong and full-bodied, with hops up front -- citrus, grapefruit, and some pine notes.

Decent balance, with plenty of malts in there -- in fact, this seems really heavy on the malts, to the point of being almost cloying and muddy. Much better in a pint glass from draft.

It's quite the looker in my large tulip glass. Wi a bit of chill haze, it resembles a wit with a milky yellow liquid. The head is a finger and a half thick; brilliant white; good retention; and a thick sticky lace. As it warms, the cloudy complexion doesn't fade much.

I can't pick up anything but pineapple, which I love. There might be some Pilsner malt in there in addition to the pale, but I can't quite tell.

Pineapple and alcohol flood the taste buds, with white pepper spice. Being an imperial, the malts are really an afterthought. But the three varieties of hops are the stars of the show.

It's quite bitter from the start. There is a burst of tangy but it's immediately taken over by the hoppy bitterness. Alcohol heat is also omnipresent. It's an onslaught of hops, though the dry finish keeps anything from lingering.

A really good beer that marks all the boxes for an IIPA.

Tin Man Brewing Company - Overlord Imperial IPA. 6% ABV. 16oz can poured into a snifter.

Look: Golden pear colored hazy body with a 3 finger white head.

Smell: Sweet citrus fruits and bitter pine resin along with some grassy notes.

Feel: On the lighter side, with a lot of carbonation.

Taste: Mirror of the aromas; sweet citrus fruits, with the pine resin leaving bitterness at the end.

Overall: Another one recommended to me, so figured it was time to try it. Definitely feels like a regular IPA.

Perhaps a little light in color for an Imperial, it retained a massive foam head. This is less than 30 days old and the hop aroma is light with pine, grapefruit, lupilin, whole flower, tea leaf malt and lemon.

The hops are dominant with herbaceousness, floral notes, lemon, grapefruit and hop oil. The malt back is light but a dry tea leaf tone. This finishes very bitter with a palate wrecking astringency.

Awesome beer, very well balanced for a very smooth initial taste and a perfect aftertaste that doesn't linger. Not super filling. It is going to be offered locally soon. Tin Man brewery has a great atmosphere and very knowledgeable staff. Food is good. So far their entire offering has been a great fine.
