The arrival of hops to the brewing scene in England in the 1500s led to a moral panic, hops were described as "a Wicked, & Pernicious Weed", feared to bring the downfall of civilized society. Thankfully, they were right.
Pernicious Weed is a celebration of the NZ-developed hop varieties Nelson Sauvin and Rakau. Huge grapefruit flavour in a worryingly-drinkable strong IPA.

330ml pull-tab can from Liquorland, Queenstown, New Zealand.
8.0% ABV. Hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Rakau.
Imbalanced. Nelson is not well showcased; lacks white wine or gooseberry flavours. Subdued hop oil, floral hop character, faint apricot.
A drinkable brew (especially for its highish ABV), and I dig that it's a Kiwi brewed IPA that actually has concomitant hop bitterness, but I can't say it's a top tier expression of the style. The hop profile doesn't amaze and - not that this affects my rating - but it's pretty pricey for its level of quality.

Oct. 2015: 650 ml bottle, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 8%. Cloudy deep golden to brownish colour, moderate to low white head. Strong hoppy aroma, notes of pine, spruce and tropical fruits. Distinctly hoppy flavour too, medium dry, notes of pine and grapefruit, hints of crushed white grapes and tropical fruits. Bitter aftertaste. Very good. Would certainly buy again. * Now available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger.

Appearance - The beer poured a golden copper color with a huge over carbonated white head.
Smell - The beer smelled weedy just as the name suggested.
Taste - after the head finally went down, my initial Impression was weedy pineapple with peppery hints. The bitterness comes towards the back.
Mouthfeel - After the enormous head went down, the beer was essentially flat.
Overall - there are some good aspects to this beer. I would be willing to give them another chance.

One of the better garage project IPAs we had. Great west coast style IPA, super dry hopped for a juicier taste. To be honest, this is the only garage project i would buy again

22oz bottle served in a tulip. BB17/02/18. I presume that means best by February 17 2018, so I guess I'm putting their best by dates to the test a little bit. But hey -- it should still be "best"
Pours slightly hazy light amber-gold with a smallish head and a lot of carbonation. Smell is muted, but I get some orange blossom and some hay.
Taste is overall surprisingly mild. Bitterness builds, comes out more as it warms up. Slight "old hops" flavor, but not too bad. Moderate tropical juice flavors.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Overall, a pretty decent beer.

Copper-orange body; fine carbonation; thick, frothy head. Citrus-forward aroma; orange; cereal malt grain notes. Bitter, citrus rind flavor; light cereal grain malt qualities in the background; tangy, fruity overall. Medium-heavy body; juicy; dry overall at the finish.
Powerful, pungent and bitter IPA; nice juicy quality overall.

Great New Zealand inspired Imperial IPA coming out of Garage Project in New Zealand. Extremely hoppy with great citrus notes, bit does not hide the malty notes from the grain bill. Pours a hazy amber gold color. Must try! Brewed with NZ's own Nelson Sauvin and Rakau hops.

Pours copper. Foamy, short, off white head that fades slowly with light lacing.
Smells citrus, light grassy, grapefruit, orange, bready malt and light pine.
Tastes citrus peel, light orange, light pine, caramel malt and light grassiness. Finish is dry with a citrus peel and malty linger. Medium body and smooth lower carbonation

On tap at Pub 365 in Las Vegas. Pours a ruddy copper hue with moderate frothing. Assertive aroma replete with hints of citrus and grapefruit. Bitter, uninviting flavor. Not recommended.
