330ml bottle in Das Lemke, Berlin (€4.00):
Pale lemon colour with no head really, a sour nose with some grassy notes, lemon, wheat & tart. It's quite funky & sour tasting with a lot of tart & grassy flavours, some apple & herbal touches then a well-carbonated, sharp feel to it; surprisingly drinkable too.

Can from OEC.

The nose is a classic Berlinerweisse, delightfully so with a wonderfully balanced blend of the expected wheat, tart, snappy lactic fermentation and just the hint of sulfur that lends a black salt/funky depth. The palate is tart, snappy, bright with clean lactic acid, bright and mildly yogurt-like with a light fruit character. Acidity is moderate. Cleaning finish that's a hair watery. Delightful.

12oz can. Brewed in Germany, canned fresh in the USA. No date stamping on the can.
Cloudy, raspberry red colored body. Brief, fizzy, two finger white head, which maintains as a thin cap. No lacing. Quite a good number of lighter colored floaties in the body.
Aroma is raspberry over grass.
Taste is tart, with raspberry as the main flavor, joined in by bready malts and yeast esters, or could be lactic acid.
Tartness produces a slight pucker and each sip cleans the enamel. Very good carbonation.
Fruity and tart, which results in refreshment. Good to sample a German original, in order to compare with the wide range of U.S. brewed Berliners.

Can...brewed in Berlin, canned in Connecticut.

Pours a lightly hazed colour of raspberry. Head of foam is small and short lived.

I get some grass and lots of tart raspberries in the smell. Lovely.

Tart raspberry taste is delightful. Some notes of wheat and grass round it out. The finish is tart and somewhat earthy.

Light bodied, light carbonation.

This is excellent. I have 3 more cans to enjoy.

12 oz can from Brewers Haven. Orange colored with pink hues, fizzy head, effervescent. Grassy, herbal, floral aroma. Taste starts with light tartness, dry, more of the green leafy, herbal notes, handsoap. Nice to see this traditional flavoring land on these shores.
