This is a true beer geek - beer lovers place. No bull shit. The place is run by Ronaldo Rossi, quite a character. He is also a chef and a brewer. So you got to try his Riff bier, a very good hand crafted IPA.
The place is small, but this may give some charm to it. Don't be disappointed with the decoration, this is a place for good beers with real beer people. You can come here and get good advices for pairing beer with food, hear some beer stories, and take home some of the privileged beers he gets from his brewer friends such as Urbana and Nunes&Levy. He is part of a small crowd that it is helping with the craft beer revolution in Brazil.
Prices are fair, meaning being under Sampa average crafted beer prices, that is a little steep comparing to other countries.
In summary, it is certaintly a place you must stop by if visiting Sao Paulo.

The beer library? Indeed so....

Cervejoteca is a small beer store in between Vila Mariana and Moema. You will need to park on the street, and beware that parking can be hard to find, this is São Paulo after all. Very intimate and a little cluttered inside with empty beer boxes. There's a small patio outside where one can enjoy a beer.

A few of the bottles I saw were dusty, and one of the beers I bought was cutting it close to the sell-by date. Otherwise, the condition of the beers is solid. Most of the bottles sit at store temperature, with a small cooler of cold bottles. There is a selection of glassware that is available to buy, as well as to drink with any cold beer you purchase and drink at Cervejoteca.

Cool guy watching the shop. Price tags on every commercial beer they sell. I like that. And with more than 300 bottles to choose, plus non-commercial beers (more details to come), Cervejoteca has a selection that can rival any bar or store in São Paulo. Let the naming of brands begin: Sauber Beer, Palm, Spitfire, Malheur, Boostels, Marstons, Bierland, Achel, Westmalle, Rogue, Falke, Karavelle, Dama, Meantime, BrewDog, Bamberg, Backer. I even found Nanny State here! As for the non-commerical beers, Cervejoteca has good relations with homebrewers/non-registered breweries, and you can find bottled stuff made by them, such as Brix and Urbana.

Don't be fooled by its exterior, Cervejoteca is a must stop in São Paulo. Um grande abraço pra Sergio, who told and brought me to this treasure chest of a store. Uau!
