Poured in a teku, dated 5-10-14, 2 and a half years later. Pour is a super murky medium orange hue, over the top frothy white head even with a soft pour. Aroma is a super oak forward scent, barrel presence is definitely there with an equal amount of red wine as well. The Brett is noticeable with hints of pepper and stone fruit. Peaches and apricots somewhere in the mix. Taste is where the DIPA part of this comes out, nice and juicy. Good amount of mango, papaya and melon compliment the subtle Brett funk in the background. Earthy, oaky barrel in the finish. Slight bitterness. Mouthfeel is relatively palate coating, juicy and resinous.

Cloudy amber pour, nice white head. Fruity hops in the aroma. Weird taste, phenolic and funky. Obvious brett contribution, but overall not really what I'm looking for in the style...something was off here.

Thanks to JustXBeer for sharing this one at mrbubbler's tasting.

2014 release # 2. Bottled on: 5/10/14.

Pours a murky dark honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is slightly sour with malt, citrus zest, red wine, funk, and Brett aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, funk, and Brett flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of Brett bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a nice funk and red wine barrel aging combination going on.

Serving type: bottle.

750ml bottle into tulip. Bottled 5/10/14. Thank you very much AutumnBeerLove.

A: Pours a hazy dark amber with a couple fingers of dense, thick, and heavy looking greasy off-white head that slowly faded into an bubbly, oily film. Streaks of sticky lace were left down the glass.
S: Huge perfumey notes of tropical fruit hops, peach and other stone fruits, and dry vinous wine barrel. Brett is earthy and peppery, and mixes well with the juicy, fruity hops. This smells wonderful.
T: Juicy hops hit up front with flavors of papaya, peach, and mango. There a touch of booze next, followed by flavors of brett, oak, and red wine. The aftertaste is earthy and herbal, with a faint touch of grass followed by vinous red grapes.
M: Full body, decadent soft and bubbly carbonation, with a slick, greasy yet dry mouthfeel. Drinks very well.
O: Juicy, slick, and bretty. Everything works in this beer. I was skeptical about the red wine barrel at first, but thankfully its presence is low. Brett-dipa is one of my favorite types of beers, and this did not disappoint. Thanks again Kevin!

In a teku glass this beer was a dark orange color. It had a large, sticky white head.

Nice aroma. Some tropical fruit, some grapefruit, and a bit of funk.

The taste got even better. Fruity, papaya, mango, and pineapple. Some grapefruit. All this arrayed over a background that was vinous and resiney.

Sweet in the mouth, with a late bittering.

Great beer. I should have gotten more than my two bottles!

Getting lots of brett, some tea, tropical fruits and pineapple. Super dry, medium finish. Funky. Almost no sweetness. A completely different beer with a year plus on it. Less juicy fruit ipa, more dry brett forward strong ale. Both good in their own right.
