Lovingly named after our address in Everett, The 87 is a juicy, tropical New England DIPA. Pours hazy with a glowing shade of orange. A simple, clean malt bill allows the hops to shine. Aromas of sweet orange and guava lead into a stone fruit burst of candied peach and nectarine. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel. Very drinkable for 8% ABV.

A: slight haze; medium gold in color; less than a 1 finger ivory head that receded to a thin collar; very little lacing;
S: not especially aromatic; what's there is pineapple, grapefruit, and orange;
T: follows the nose up front; orange is dominant at the end; mild to moderate bitterness at the end;
M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish; hides the ABV well;
O: dangerous;

Poured from a 16oz can to a tulip glass. It pours copper colored and plenty cloudy with a moderate off-white rocky head. Aroma is floral hops, a bit bready. Taste is guava, orange peel, and some floral in the finish. Mouthfeel is dry and crème, with a medium body and moderate carbonation. Cheers!

16 oz can from Halftime. Thick orange golden pour, one finger creamy head. Dry, dusty tropical aroma. Taste is more tropical fruit, guava and a dry, bitter edge. Creamy and juicy

Crisp start with a medium to strong hoppy finish. Strong aroma. Smooth swallowing and a big 8% abv in this dipa. Beautiful golden color. Taste gets hoppier with every sip.

I disagree with this outstanding rating because there is more than a hint of that clove smell that you get when the yeast struggles. (No, I am not a save-the-yeast activist.) The same clove smell and taste that is found in Belgians, farmhouse, and others. I recently tossed a five gallon batch that I made because of this smell. I do not like that smell or taste outside of its zone - those European low country ales, or even in its zone. The combination of even a little clove and a lot of hops, for me, is unpleasant. I might have rated it a half point lower but I did finish the pint.

Pours a hazy orange. Thick foam. Sweet orange aroma. Sweet and spicy body. Fades to a mild bitterness. A little syrupy. Pretty good.
