Appearance: light golden yellow in color with a 1" head that last a long time before falling to a thick surface foam. Plenty of lace here too.

Smell: orange and some floral aroma rise from the glass.

Taste: biscuit, orange, grapefruit, and a bit of spiciness are the main flavors. Bitterness is moderate.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Crisp throughout. Light dryness late.

Overall: a well balanced and an easy to drink beer.

16oz can dated 1/16/17.

Pours cloudy gold with a nice froth and lacing. Cracked garlic and hard peaches on the nose with some faint white grape must. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. Citrus with an earthy bitterness on the palate. Grapefruit with pine bark and dank weed. Finishes dry with zero malt and lingering garlic.

A tasty delve into Amarillo.

Amarillo was the popular new hop a few years back, at least in homebrewing. Tall Boy poured into my new Hermit Thrush tulip. Cloudy with thick lacing, a nice look. And this is a fine and very chewy IPA, Goes to the bitter side which I love. Not the juicy NE IPA that's the trendy one now. (Night Shift Santilli and others cover that ground.) I do love single hopped ales, and this is a fine one. Recommended.

Tal silver can, "1/17/17 Amarillo" on the bottom rim of the can

Typical NE IPA look to this one, clouded/turbid, off white froth, low sheeting, nice strands of fine lacing.

Tropical fruit sniff, yum

Soft and smooth, loaded with a blend of ripe tropical fruity goodness.softly resinous, dank and thoroughly delicious.....well crafted and well worth seeking out

Cloudy, pale straw color. Moderate head with some streaks for lace.

Very mild aroma. With effort, I pick up pale malt.

This starts off as an ordinary APA but the flavor in the swallow is like charcoal and ash. Although the brewer writes about the "melon, peach, lemon" notes, I don't pick up any of these. The body is rich but the carbonation is equally high, creating a decent balance. The finish is predominantly bitter.

Overall, the combination of flavors and the general lack of smell makes this an interesting beer, certainly not conventional.

Appearance – One finger head on a hazy yellow body. Expected a deeper color.

Aroma – Mild citrus, a little sweet. Not very strong, quite subtle.

Taste – Light citrus, clean bitter aftertaste.

Mouthfeel – Crisp and clean.

Overall – Easy drinking and not too heavy.

Pours a hazy pale orange with a finger of white head, moderate lacing. Aroma but s grapefruit, some pineapple, and a decent amount of dank. Taste hits the same notes with a punch of grapefruit upfront, a hint of resiny pine, and an earthy and herbaceous thing that turns dank with a lightly bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Overall a pretty good beer. At first the dank notes are a bit too prominent for me but they settle down and after a bit and become a lot more pleasant.
