Cheers to Goblinmunkey7 for sharing this

Consumed 2/17/14

Appearance: Hazy, cloudy pink - the color vaguely reminds me of penicillin - pours with a big, frothy head - retains some wisps of a cap - decent head, but doesn't leave much lacing

Smell: Lots of weird, but good stuff going on - tart cranberries, cranberry flesh, and wood - some funk, a touch of vinegar, and a very light touch of acetone - some citrus, like oranges or grapefruits (but definitely not in a hoppy way)

Taste: More or less follows the aroma, with some charmingly weird flavors - cranberry flesh and some tart notes - some funk, with some light notes of vinegar - some wood, some citrus, and some general sourness - some Berliner/wheat strangeness, nicely refreshing

Mouthfeel: Light body, nicely carbonated, finishes tart and lightly sour

Overall: Made with real cod

This is a great Berliner weiss to start, and the cranberries adds some nice flavor. This is nicely tart and nicely refreshing. Definitely worth a try if you can find a bottle.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Bright clear red body with a nice white head. Thin collar. Smells remarkably bad. Butterscotch really doesn't blend well with the rest of the aroma. Light berry and acidity for as long as I can keep my nose in it. The butterscotch doesn't come through quite as horribly in the taste, but it's still there. Sour cranberry. Butterscotch. Light body. Well carbonated. Pretty darned gross.

Pours orange red in color, clear, with minimal head. Taste is cranberries, orange, and sour mix. Tart but not overly so. Another winner from Night Shift. I will do this one again.

Looks like cheap flavored vodka, but tastes great. Tart, clean, wonderful.

750ml caped bottle into Night Shift Reserve stemware. Shared by schen9303.

Pours a foamy 1 finger light pink colored head with no retention. Beer is a crystal clear bright red. Lacing is spotty with moderate stick and thin, filmy legs. Just above average.

Nose is cranberry, strawberry and an aggressive yeastiness that tickles the nose. Decent.

Opens tart cranberry pulp and seed. Puckeringly sour in the middle with a cinnamon and red fruit sweetness bridging the middle and end. Yeasty at the finish with some foam, cut wheat and a seedy saltiness in the aftertaste. Very unique.

Light bodied with ample carbonation. Tart and super dry in the mouth. Dry going down with a bone-dry finish and a filmy, sticky aftertaste. The driest berliner I've ever had... no doubt due to the cranberries.

Cranberry beers in general aren't that common but this one really stands out in that it really showcases the tart and dryness of the fruit A really interesting and tasty beer.
