Keg and Kitchen rests on a block not far from some other hot beer spots in Jersey. A nice surrounding neighborhood with a lot of business. The building is large with barrels sitting outside helping with the appeal of beer and spirits. Inside a nice large room full of swanky tables for smaller and larger parties. Some table tops near the windows and some booths towards the interior, bar to the right, U shaped seats about 15 or 20 or so. There is a separate dining area with some extra tables as well. A waiting area behind the bar where you can sit and just chill. Bathrooms were clean and presentable. The decor is nice and modern and redone from what I can tell.
The beer was good, I had a whole bunch of Dales pale ale and some Firestone Sucaba off of the tap system which was flowing nicely. My mouth was scorching with hops by my 3rd dales pale, the beer was very fresh and tasty. A good array of craft offerings available in Jersey, a few imports served in appropriate glassware. A very impressive glassware collection by the way. The bartenderess was nice and pleasant to deal with. She seemed genuinely concerned when I told her I got lost on the way over there. It's a Jersey thing. A whole lot of action during the dinner rush and the staff seemed to run like a well oiled machine, from what I could see.
I got some cheese and charcuheterie(?) The cheese was portioned nicely and the Serrano ham was great. Served with some bread and mustard and I am in heaven. For dinner I was blessed with some of the most succulent bacon wrapped scallops that I ever had. Keg and Kitchen gets some nice seafood in from what I hear and it shows. Good presentation and nice portions. A nice menu that changes with the seasons I suppose.
I hope to be back here soon, I had a great time.
