Notes:
Notting Hill Amber is a full-bodied creamy amber coloured beer with the citrus aroma and flavour well balanced by the sweet slightly toffee maltiness and a bitter dryness that lingers. There is a little flowery hop throughout. Its drinkability belies its strength.

From a 500ml bottle. BBE Oct 2016.
Pale orange/brown with a green tint around the edges. A gentle pour, to retain the sediment in the bottle, resulted in a thin, bubbly cap that receded to a ring. This is one murky looking beer. Completely opaque.
Smell is primarily bright, citrus hops but a swirl reveals an unpleasant vegetable aroma that fortunately doesn't linger.
Has this bottle gone off? There's no vinegar in the flavour - it's mainly light, floral and citrus - but mouthfeel is thin and lifeless and there's something slightly chemically in the finish. Carbonation is sharp but short-lived.
Tried two different bottles and both were the same. Pretty rank. Not at all what I was expecting. Second bottle ended up as drain pour.

Poured a deep amber red colour. Light mocha head poured fairly thick and foamy with a frothy topping then faded quite quickly to wispy covering with thick edging that climbs up the glass... no real carbonation... some decent lacing lines...
Aroma - Quite nutty, lots of grassy and piney hops, sweet caramel and biscuit malts, quite bready, some over ripe fruits (apples, some pears, the faintest hint of banana), light molasses, floral notes...
Taste pretty much mirrors the aroma - lots of piney and floral hops backed by caramel malts and biscuity notes... quite bready too..
M&D - Quite sharp and dry... light / medium bodied... A good sessionable brew at only 4.7%...
Overall - An excellent Amber ale and very quaffable... recommended
