Bottle resembles Jack Daniels bottle, which is cool since the company is an off shoot of the guys that started JD. Smooth drinkable lager. Can't ask for much else. Solid.

Gold in color with a faint haziness. The eggshell fingernail of white totally vanished. The aroma is of grassy German hops and corn. I'm tasting a grassy German hop forward lager with light breadiness and corn in the finish. The mouth could use more carbonation and is a touch flat.

Hap & Harry's lager (Nashville, TN) on tap at the Casual Pint in Knoxville.

Pale golden with a very short-lived head

Looks like a pitiful light lager, but has a decent aroma and flavor.
Mostly malty in the nose but with a subtle hop presence.

Flavor: notably more hoppy that the aroma indicates, with a lingering if light hop note.

Feel: light body; crisp carbonation. Thin but not watery.

O: good flavor for style

Small white head dies into a nice lacing above a clear golden colored beer.

Aroma is sour grain malts with a little breadiness and maybe a little hops adding to the sourness.

A lighter bodied beer with a pretty big taste with a lot of sour grain malts, corn syrupiness, and some hops to a lesser degree.

A slightly dry aftertaste that brings with it some slight sourness.

When i first saw this in the glass I thought "Yippee, another Budweiser wannabee", but this beer had a lot more tastes coming through, I could drink a few of these.

Absolutely wonderful after a long day at work, refreshing and light. However, without a good days work before hand I found the beer to be lacking and almost a different experience. Very little to no head when poured from a bottle. I live in Buffalo so get a lot of exposure to Canadian and American lagers, and this was better than most easily attainable North American Lagers.

Hap & Harry's Tennessee Lager
on tap @ Edley's BBQ, Nashville, TN - 4 April 2015
$4 / pint

The label and the story behind Hap & Harry's are probably the most interesting things about it. Not that it's bad, it's OK, but it's just an average amber ale. The malt is lightly toasty, and there's some very mild hop flavor to it as well, but other than that there's really nothing going on. If you like Yuengling Traditional Lager you'd probably like this although it's not as sweet. I would, however, like to try the Hap & Harry's Lynchburg Tennessee Lager which is supposed to have a little more maltiness to it.

I really like this beer; after a hard day of fieldwork in the Tennessee River Valley, there is nothing quite as delicious and refreshing as one popping one of these open at the hotel before I hit the shower. It is not very complex, which on occasion is precisely what I'm seeking, and has a good, straightforward lager-taste.
