Big foam up on the first pour. Eventually it settles down enough to drink and top it off. Hazy pale golden with a greenish cast and endlessly streaming bubbles in the tall Maredsous goblet. Inviting lemony aroma with a distinct funkiness.
Very light and very sudsy in the mouth. The citrus note goes nicely with the modest grainy flavor. This is just a little sharp, like it's trying to be a faintly sour Saison when it grows up. It's definitely a winner in the lower-alcohol realm. The persistent lemony flavor is very refreshing. This would be a good hot-weather quaff.
This stuff is very pleasant but the $13 price tag makes it a silly novelty rather than a real Table Beer. From the 750 ml bottle purchased at Bine & Vine in San Diego.
