Notes: Mixed-fermentation saison aged in French oak barrels with our house mixed culture of wild yeast and souring bacteria and aged with apricots. You might have had our Apricot Kisses (barrel-fermented saison w/ apricots), but in Juteux we added double the amount of apricots!

Pours a very hazy dark orange color with tangerine/orange peel colored edges and a two finger frothy white head that quickly settles into a thin ring. Poor retention, settling pretty quickly with not much in the way of lacing. Unfortunate because this here has nice coloring and otherwise looks pretty good.

Sweet, slightly funky aroma with citric acidity, seedy acetic vinegar, citrus/tropical sweetness and pale malt. Barnyard funk with wild yeast, cobweb and subtle diaper. Subtle acetic quality but not vinegar or solvent like. Somewhat vegetal with cobwebs and musty barnyard funk. Pleasant lactic presence with blue cheese and tangy yogurt. Underneath funk and acidity, the nose of his beer is bursting with juicy tangerine and nectarine sweetness along with tart fleshy orange wedges. Nice!

Medium body with tart, puckering citric acidity and a mild acetic presence without becoming harsh or solvent like. Tart and puckering with strong sourness countered by juicy tropical fruit, apricots, clementines, nectarine and blood orange. Really well balanced with juicy fruit sweetness countering acidity and lactic funk. This is a really complex and flavorful beer that's deceptively drinkable at over 8%. Another impressive offering from Monkish.

A: Lots of apricot, slightly woody with a big lasting sourness.

A: Bright straw/yellow color, opaque with a thick white head.

T: Big apricot fruit flavor, followed by a moderate sourness that lingers through the finish.

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. The beer has a moderately light acidity. The beer is somewhat strong at 7%, but hides its alcohol well.

O: Pretty delicious; the apricot aroma and flavor is huge (much more pronounced than Apricot Kisses) and is well complimented by the lasting sourness.
