Poured into an Ommegang stemmed glass. No freshness date.

A- Pours a very hazy, nearly fully opaque, medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before becoming a thin ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves small clots behind.

S- Has that orangey vitamin C aroma a lot of these turbid IPAs seem to exhibit.

T- And the flavor has that same vitamin C thing going on with some accompanying bitterness. Juicy with notes of orange juice, pine and grapefruit. The bitterness starts to stick out over the hop flavor and becomes uneven, though it's still pretty drinkable when all's said and done.

M- Sharp from the hops with medium carbonation and a body leaning toward the lighter side.

O- Ya know, if you had told me 5 years ago that I could get drunk off of something that tasted like orange juice, I'd be like "Hell yeah!" But now that I know how great a super dank IPA with assertive bitterness can be, I just can't get into these turbid juice bombs so much. Some are certainly better than others, and I do enjoy this more than the Supa Dupa Fly I had last night since this one actually has some bitterness to go along with the hop flavor, but there's just something missing for it to be truly satisfying.

pours a pale peach almost white---cloudy color---love it (steer clear of clear beer!)
smell is muted pine and citrus
taste is clean piney hops with a nice dose of citrus, mostly pineapple, with a smooth mouthfeel, and a mildly bitter finish... (reminds me a lot of Treehouse Green, a very nice west coast east coast IPA)

From tasting notes 07/16/19
Had on-tap at Monkish Brewing in Torrance, CA

Appearance - Served up in a skinny pint, opaque and mellow orange in color with a thin, broken layer of suds. Decent lacing, with broken webbing and a few small spots.

Smell - Musty aroma, like slightly rotting fruit.

Taste - Tastes better than it smells, but follows the nose. Musty, but fruity. Hints of tropical character, but mustiness overrides. Lightly tart passionfruit character.

Mouthfeel - The saving grace of this beer. Medium in body with fair carbonation. Slick, lightly creamy texture before a crisp, mostly dry finish. Easy drinker.

Overall - Well brewed, but my disinterest for Galaxy is pretty evident with this one, seeing as its a single hop galaxy brew. Its good when blended with other hops, but single hop? Meh

L - Incredibly hazy, creamy, and cloudy pale yellow with a small white creamy head that dissipates quickly leaving behind minimal lacing.
S - Passion fruit, peach, mango, and pineapple on the nose along with some piney hops - but overall the fruit dominates
T - Follows the nose with a ton of pineapple up front and throughout along with passionfruit, peach, mango notes and some piney bitter hops.
F - Medium to full bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation - creamy, smooth, juicy.
O - An incredibly good NEPIA with tons of juicy tropical fruit flavor and a nice balanced mild hop profile.

Undated can that I took a while to get around to, as I finally found some free time today to crack this open. Loved the other beers from Monkish that I've traded for or had in Other Half's line share but this one just didn't quite do it for me. Sure, it was smooth, easy to enjoy, and had enough flavor to hold my attention, but nothing in particular about this stood out to me when all was said and done...

Of course, the pour to this was quite muddled as this looked like turbid orange juice. Plenty of head topped it off and there was a good amount of lacing left down the side of my pint glass, as the top ring served as a nice collar to the sections of soapy clumps below it. Lots of tropical fruit, lychee, citrus, and dank hops in the nose as the Galaxy came through quite strong, even if the nose could have been turned up a few more notches. The taste contained all of those with a strong sticky sensation and underlying stone fruit sweetness that was just enough to keep my attention. Nothing noteworthy about the malt and the carbonation was light too, as a bit of nectar and stone fruit stuck around on my teeth once this fully went down...

Not a lot of booze here and this felt like an American Pale Ale as much as it was a New England IPA. Not a bad beer but just a bit too dank and murky for my tastes when it came to it's overall taste. I didn't mind kicking back with one and it would take a few more like this to move Monkish down a notch or two in my book...

Appearance: Arrives a cloudy goldenstraw color with a modest head; streaky lacing action

Smell: Ruby red grapefruit, mango and pineapple; bright and floral

Taste: Mango and pineapple forward, with ruby red grapefruit building; bright and juicy, through the middle, with just a hint of graham cracker underneath

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; creamy

Overall: A top notch NE style beer; as good as it gets

Pours a murky, dull orange with a loose, off-white head that quickly disperses. Nose smells like a creamsicle - vanilla and citrus. The orange is a bit dull in the flavor profile and there are some herbal notes. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with an even carbonation. Overall, solid but nothing particularly outstanding relative to other offerings.

Thanks to Chris for the can. Hazy yellow body with a soapy white head. Lemons and tart citrus. Hop forward flavor, mild bitterness. Juicy and tangy. Quite tasty.

Split a can dated 10/31/16 with "Trick or Treat" on the bottom. Pours completely cloudy yellow color, looking like pineapple juice, leaving minimal spotty lacing. Great looking East Coast IPA.

Smell is ridiculous....the citrus burst from the can as soon as it was cracked open. It's a wonderful mix of lemon zest, red grapefruit, clementine, orange peel, mango, pineapple, light graham cracker, floral hops, zesty citrus hops, pine cone/piney hops, tons of fruit juice and fruit candy. It's perfect.

Tastes pretty much like it smells with super juicy hops that are mostly dank citrus with sharp piney notes, lots of grapefruit, orange juice, pineapple, guava, lemon, clementine, lightly toasted grains, graham cracker, mild peppery spices and a nice malt backbone. It's creamy, smooth and very well balanced. A little bit bitter but overall fantastic. Thanks for sharing Chris D, this is a brewery I will seek out.
