Canned 2/7/17; drank 2/18/17 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull yellow/orange appearance.
A violent pour yielded a huge, noisy eggshell head; strong, frothy lace.
Pineapple, orange citrus, mild peach & faint fresh flower notes in the nose.
Soft, medium mouthfeel.
Orange citrus & cane sugar flavors up front; mildly dry pineapple bite on the finish. No booze heat.
A monster nose; the flavor was a bit sweet but this was another very good Monkish brew.

Type: 32-oz. growler
Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. Teku glass
From: Monkish Brewing Company in Torrance, Calif.
Price: $13
Purchased: April 19, 2019
Consumed: April 19, 2019
Reviewed as: New England Double / Imperial IPA
Misc.: Growled on April 19, 2019
Picked this up along with 2-1 & Lewis on my way home from vacation. Was looking forward to having another awesome Monkish beer. Their website called it a “Double IPA with Galaxy and Amarillo.”
Poured a medium yellow-to-gold hazy color with three fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubbles coming up from the sides of the glass at different speeds. World-class layered foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.50)
Smelled dank pine, Amarillo, tangerine, orange, Galaxy, black pepper, melon, sugary pineapple, passion fruit, peach skin and earthy grass. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted at least as good as the nose. Got Amarillo, dank pine, orange, tangerine, Galaxy, black pepper, sugary pineapple, passion fruit and peach. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Oily texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Dry, spicy finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Went back and forth on a few different categories, and I think I actually underrated this just a tad overall. World-class though. (Overall - 4.50)

Excellent. Hoppy, juicy, tropical with an incredible mouthfeel. No alcohol heat at all.

Poured into a snifter, canned 12/27/18. A bright yellow haze with a small white head. Juicy aroma 2 feet away from the can upon opening, with tropical fruit, resin, and straw. A bit less fruity on the palate. Pineapple, citrus and mango, along with a restrained bready backbone. Medium bodied and slightly astringent on the finish. Moderate bitterness and a fairly light feel. Overall enjoyable.

Out of a 750 ml growler and poured at the homestead.
You know Norma Jean? Yeah, her. Well, imagine the moment that she became Marilyn Monroe, then bottle it and this is what you get. Curvy, buxom, sleek, platinum...
This is called ineffable. I just... I’m trying... But I can’t...
It’s just so damn good.

Canned 07/06/18, ‘4REALSIES’.
Nice golden mango juice pour. Some residual frothy lace and head , but most of it fizzles out quickly.
Some citrusy accents, but predominantly tropical fruits on the nose. A nice hop presence as well, slightly bitter tail.
Citrus and bitter, earthy hops hit first. It quickly transforms into a sweeter, overripe tropical beer, with subtle hints of booze in the finish. Very good.
Medium body, good creaminess. Finishes juicy. Good mouthfeel.

"For Realsies"
stamped under the date.
Moderate pour yields a 3/4 inch white head over a cloudy, murky body with some lacing. Since this can is almost 5 months old I didn't pour the bottom of the can until later as I knew there would be an ugly mess down there. ;) Wonderful nose of tropical fruit (peach, mango, orange, pineapple; you know, all the good stuff!) Flavors follow aromas to a "T." Feel is where this, and other juice bombs like it, fall short. After a little while the carbonation seems to be replaced by some sort of gritty feeling which doesn't agree with my taste buds. That being said, I think from this juice bomb forward, a "3" for feel is all any of these JB's get. For real!

Hazy golden, big white head, and tons of lacing. Fruity aromas. Notes of pineapple, underripe mango, white grapefruit flesh, bubblegum and meyer lemon. Soft, velvety, medium body and dry. Lovely fruity hop driven DIPA.

A month and a week on the can. Still beautiful! Pours a bright turbid yellow. Nose is a bit spicy like a Saison with tropical fruits and apples. Taste of mangos, pinnaple, green apples and light citrus. Very low on perceived bitterness but packed with hoppy goodness. Medium to thin body a little dryness but by no means would I say it finishes dry.
