Small corner spot in a parking lot alleyway. The only telltale signs a brewery exists are a food pop up out front, a spacious concrete patio, and a small brewery sign. Interior ordering space is small, with room for two bartenders. Around the corner, the space opens to high ceilings for the brewing equipment. A roped-off walk way leads patrons around the corner to seating. One TV for game viewing is available in here. A garage at the end connects the interior to the patio.

Tap list focuses mostly on IPAs, obviously, but that's what Monkish is known for making - and making well.

Service was quality. Was able to keep the lines moving between to-go orders and draft.

Stopped in recently to grab a few things. The space is small, but the outdoor area is nice. Great selection of beer to drink and to go. Service was fantastic - very nice people working there. Would definitely visit again. My only complaint is that it's tough (traffic-wise) to get there and the indoor space seemed small.

Came here with my wife on a recent trip to San Diego and Los Angeles.

Tried the following:
Monkish Somewhereness (flight sample)
Monkish Beats Is Infinite (flight sample)
Monkish Feminist (flight sample)
Monkish Swap Meets (flight sample)

Beers were delicious across the board and this was one of the most experimental breweries that we visited. Service was very friendly as the bartender was happy to describe the beers on offer, especially after she found out we’re from Toronto. Chill atmosphere inside the taproom with the brewing tanks in clear view of our table. Liked the monk themed artwork throughout. Our overall experience was a lot of fun, and we would certainly come back.

Lively fun place with plenty of room, tables, music and a food ruck outside. Essentially a tap/tasting set up. Service is largely centered on pouring. There is little time for discussing beers, etc. Very friendly but busy ...at least on the Saturday afternoon I was there. Selection of beers was limited to what semed the latest "one off's". Beer was very good, but nothing available that might have been recommended to me in the past. Beers broken into 3 groups - IPAs; Saisons and Sours.Had a good time with 2 others accompanying me.

IPA fans rejoice... well NE IPAs. Horrible horrible parking lot and your GPS will def send you astray. Bartenders are nice which is a plus considering there terrible set up. It's expensive and you have to take the 405 to the apex of shittiness in LA. But, the heart wants what the heart wants.

Great space that's easy to get to if you're at LAX, there's a great bar/serving area, and seating in the brewery - the tanks are right there. Excellent selection and the quality is world-class. Worthy of your time and multiple visits.

Delicious...of course it was....and the setup was great. Smaller than expected but with no can release seating was available and the lines short. Wish they had more taps available. The taco food truck was killer.

I got the chance to visit Monkish on a business trip...Nice place with a fantastic selection of beers...especially, if you love the hazies! Customer service was good and they were patient with a first timer and the questions that I had. There were a few things that I didn't like...one of those is the size of the place. Because it is so small, sitting options are limited when trying to settle down and concentrate on their great beers. The other thing is they don't really offer a flight. You can only order two small pours at a time. This is not cool because after getting your two, you have to wait back in line to get two more.

Visited the brewery in Torrance- and lucked into a can release. So the review is based on the can release and my tasting room experience. Friendly staff, who went out of their way to explain their particular can release rules (since I didn't know anything coming in) and make sure that I was able to try the beers before deciding which ones to buy. So I went into the tasting room, which is a small affair- a few barrels and a bench up front in the tasting room, and if you walk into the brewery and take a right, there are multiple tables available leading up to the garage door which had a pizza food truck there. There are also pretzels and water on a table. Pretty straightforward place, a bit small for a can release. Decent selection of different beers on tap. IPAs, stouts, saisons. Plus on-site consumption bottles. Relatively standard pricing for the Los Angeles area. For the most part, taproom a bit too small during a can release, but overall they have a well-run operation that utilizes social media well.

Smaller but awesome place in Torrance. Beer selection out of my dreams, American takes on Belgian beer and awesome NEIPA game. Seating is somewhat limited to honest with a few chairs around barrels and some tables. Staff/bartenders are very friendly and knowledgeable, with great recommendations. Free mini pretzels and food trucks

Really great place to visit (specially when it is not busy) they do have various food vendors depending on the day. It does tend to get crowded on the weekends in which is almost hard to get a table to sit down and have a drink with food. They do have a good selection most of the times in which there are occasions that they run out some of their beer for the night. Normally the selection is always rotating to different beers in which at time they do not do Growler fills for some IPA's due to availability. Just wish the tasting room was a bit bigger!

Really cool looking building with a small space. There might have been a capacity for 45 people indoors but it had a great vibe to it. I was fortunate enough that there wasn't a can release on the day that I went, but there were still people in line to get in approximately 20 minutes before open. Quality of the place was good as well. Little bit small, but nothing looked old or out of place. Maybe a little cramped where the vessels are, but that's fine. Service was great and the line for the tap pours was quite quick.

If I do have a negative, on the day that I went there were only 4 IPA beers on draft (which quickly dwindled to 2 about an hour later) and 3 sours. All the beers I had were fantastic, but a bigger selection would have been better.

Overall a really cool place that I would definitely visit again. And although they don't serve food themselves, there was (and apparently always is) a food truck outside.

Amazing place. It can get crowded at times because it's such a small venue, and parking can be very hard. Any time there's a can release you won't get anything unless you're there early, otherwise they do a good amount of Growler Fills so you won't leave empty handed. Amazing hazy ipas and their recent barrel aged stouts are insane.

Best beer around and great staff. Space is small, so feels crowded pretty easily. Can be hard to find a spot to chill at times, but it's nice when you can. Also, free pretzels!
