A remarkably drinkable Double IPA that pays tribute to one of Mother Nature’s finest creations, as several hop varietals combine for massive aromas of tropical fruit, citrus and pine. A mild caramel malt character and dry finish provide balance.

Very fresh 12 oz bottle from the Wall of Beer (Clemson, SC; $2.29) with a 4-9-2019 bottling date stamp on the label.
Pours clear with a copper-amber colored body topped with a good white head that leaves a nearly full coat of sticky lacing on the glass.
Aroma: very fruity with citrus notes, particularly orange and tangerine, dominating.
Flavor: moderately strong and bitter for style. Markedly less bold and dank than Hopslam.
Feel: Medium+ body with medium carbonation.

The beer that made me start an account. I have been hit and miss with Bell's for years, but Hopsolution is a winner. Smells like cotton candy and a 6-pack disappears in a few hours at the lake. Fantastic effort in a crowded market of Michiana beers!

Poured from 12oz bottle into my Bell's tulip. Bottled 3/12/22.
Appearance: rich golden hue with a clear body and two fingers of thick, fluffy ivory foam, that leaves a nice lace while it dissipates.
Smell: toasty, biscuity, and sweet malt, without a whole ton of hop character. Not bad, but I tend to like a more hop-forward presentation in a DIPA.
Taste: sweet malt with plenty of nutty, toasty character, and an herbal, earthy hop character. Bitterness is strong enough to compete with the sweetness, but still, it's dang sweet.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: this beer is okay, but it absolutely does not blow me away. It's much more looks than substance.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours dark orange red with a small off white head. Smells of citrus hops with nice malt notes. Tastes of citrus and earthy hops, with nice malt backbone. Beer is medium bodied, yet easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

2001 notes:
Burnished orange, hazy appearance, slim white head, stays as a slight ring.
Aroma: bright, bold citrus; orange, lemon, tangerine, maybe mango. Very pithy, even piney. Hoppy, but restrained, not too crazy.
Taste: boards the palate boldly, a fierce blast of hops that runs around the mouth, and fades back just a bit. Stays firm and lasts through the the finish. Medium body, full flavor, citrus and tropical fruit, splinters of pine. Good, even-tempered double IPA, can't peg the ABV, but I'd guess around 8%...IBU? 90? Got to give it up for the mouthfeel, hops keep coming, never really give up.
