Light amber golden color.
Muddy body.
Thick fluffy white head.
Settles to a nice cap thru out.
Soapy oily lace.
Smell is identical to Two Hearted, piney
All centennial hop profile. Juicy and dank aromas with hints of sweetness.
Taste is strong yet balanced. Nice hop bitterness. Stone fruits, some honeydew, pine and malt caramel sweetness. Abv is well hidden but still shows its presence.
Body is medium and taste lingers.
Crisp and a bit sweet on the finish yet leaves a juicy mouthful.

One of my favorite IPAs because it isn't in a pissing contest to be the hoppiest, bitterest beer on the market--just one of the best. Pours a nice golden color with a small head and some sticky lacing. Hints of flowers and notes of bitterness with a strong emphasis on the malts. And what's wrong with that? Nothing. In the background you get some citrusy flavor as well. Extremely easy to drink, with medium carbonation that leaves a nice finish. Take it easy on these, they'll catch up to you quickly.

If big is good, then bitter has got to be better, right? That statement certainly rings true with Bell's Brewery at the helm. The upgrade of Two Hearted Ale into imperial status sends the culinary art of the beer higher without sacrificing the original recipe's premiere drinkability.

Double Two Hearted Ale has a slightly richer hue of burnt orange than the regular version, but with the same sturdy, froth, persistent and lacy foam stance as is expected. Its strong and fruity fragrance fills the nose with a host of tropical, citrus and bubblegum aromatics. Sweetnened with caramel and honey, both the nose and initial taste is delighted with rich maltiness of graham cracker and grilled angel-food cake.

Bold, bright and full of fresh fruit flavor, the middle palate basks in the sweet honey malt while the taste of pink grapefruit, tangerine, nectarine, mango and apricot, using the malts as a radiant, ripe and vivid fruit display. As the hops trend from succulent to dry and bitter, the beer's balance becomes more hop dominant and less dependent on malt. Softly resinous with spruce, freshly muddled grasses and bass wood, the finish is smoothly bitter and complex.

Medium-full and lusciously sweet on the palate, the beer's malty weight keeps the session savory and fructose-like. Trending malty-dry and bitterly fruit-forward, the beer's finish is spicy with light gin-like booze and an aftertaste of citrus and tropical fruit peel.

Two Hearted was the first IPA I ever tried, so I’m super pumped to finally try this. Color is burnt orange with some hop haze and an off-white head. Big resiny pine notes on the nose, along with healthy citrus notes.

Taste is citrus up front, followed immediately by a heaping helping of resiny pine. Delicious, with a bit of a boozy burn. Mouthfeel is oily and very full.

This is truly Two Hearted’s big brother. Well done by one of my favorite breweries.

Wow, awesome beer! I had no idea that it was 11.5% alcohol. It is super smooth and very tasty. A beautiful golden color with a pleasant scent. Very easy to drink.

Take the masterpiece of two hearted ale, give it steroids, pour it into a snifter, breathe it in then slowly let it swell on your tongue and welcome the experience of celebrating Christmas in your mouth. Game over. Home run.

I love two hearted, it is probably my favorite widely-distributed IPA; and this double version of it doesn't disappoint.

On a snifter, from a growler filled at The Tap on Ponce (Ponce City Market in Atlanta).

Look - Crystal clear, beautiful amber in color, very small head, tons of glass lacing.

Smell - Two hearted on steroids. grapefruit, some floral an citrus notes, tons of honey.

Taste - Mostly grapefruit upfront, but with a very VERY sweet finish; I wasn't overly excited about this though. Also, coming at 11.5%ABV, you can definitely taste and feel the warmth of the alcohol in it; it is not as drinkable as other higher ABV beers like, let's say, Hopslam.

Mouthfeel - Medium. Very low carbonation; however, I am going to blame the growler store for that.

Overall - Pretty good, but definitely not a crusher. It is a good beer to sip on over a long period of time, and every once in a while. I definitely prefer the regular version of two hearted just because of it's drinkability without compromising on flavor; the double is just not as balanced.

I like this very much and more than the regular Two Hearted (which I also enjoy). This is scary smooth given the alcohol content. It's slightly sweeter than the original.

Pours a slight hazed glowing light golden orange color with a n off white fresh head, looks great. Smell is citrus, malt and pine drops. Taste follows nose very citrus forward with fresh oranges mild and sweet, pine resin mixes and adds some bitterness sweet malts in finish. Mouth feel soft and creamy with citrus up front nicely balanced pine bitterness in finish, ABV well hidden. Very good. This 2IPA version makes me want to re-visit regular 2Hearted..

Very nice DIPA! Aroma is lots of pine and grapefruit, with chewy caramel and biscuit. Flavor is big on pine and pith, with a sweet slap of malt and and but of a booze burn. Very much Two Hearted x2

12oz bottle. Pours a brownish orange with an inch of head. Lots of lacing. The aroma is piney and resinous with a hint of orange. Bready malts as well. The taste is sticky pine and resinous hops. Some dark bread and more piney bitter bite. Herbal and citrus hop notes towards the end along with some caramel. Piney finish. Tastes about as boozey as I expected. Oily mouthfeel with a medium body. Worth seeking out. Also, thank you Bell’s for putting this in the rarely found nowadays 6 pack.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 8/22/2019. Pours slightly hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, pine, honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and dark/bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of huge ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/zest, peppercorn, pine, honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of ruby red grapefruit, mandarin orange juice, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, honeydew melon, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, honey, white bread dough, toasted biscuit, light caramel/nutty, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and spicy alcohol. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is great. Mild increasing warmth of 11% after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic DIPA. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/fairly earthy hops and dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the huge ABV, with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish; great soft feel and not overly aggressive. Amazing Centennial showcase as expected. Very juicy, vibrant, and fairly dank/earthy hops; with a nice sized balancing malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and outstanding Midwest style example as expected. Did not really prefer it over the regular overall. More candied-like citrus and a bigger malt backbone; but just as balanced from the extra hops.

The beer pour a beautiful amber with excellent head. The nose is exceptional; imagine Bell's Two Hearted with an extra "something". The taste is divine. Seriously, Dionysus would believe that this beer was brewed specifically for his enjoyment. I poured this into a standard pint glass and enjoyed every nanosecond of my experience. The beer coated my palate in an indescribable way, almost like a blanket that just came out of the dryer...except that blanket is meant specifically for the human tongue. I would highly recommend doing whatever is in your power to purchase this beer; even if you have to camp in line for over 24 hours.

BA recommends that discuss the "feel" of the beer. The beer feel's amazing. This is the perfect beer for anyone wanting to sit back, relax, and just drink a beer.

Darker then the NEIPAs I’ve been drinking as of late. It looks nice but the style just isn’t as pretty as the bright hazy IPAs now. Maybe that’s an unfair critique though as this is a different style. Smell I get pine and malt. I get that on the tongue too. It’s a heavy full bodied beer for sure. It hides the high alcohol well. It’s a really strong IPA, so this is impressive. I feel like the last time I had a Hopslam I felt like it was too strong. This has more balance if say. Overall I’m enjoying this but wish it came in a 4 pack instead of 6 as I might tire of it by then.

Pours an effervescent amber with one finger of cream colored head. Below average head retention

S: Cakeyness, pineapples, fades a bit once warm, a little boozeyness late

T: Follows the nose, dryness, a touch of pine & grapefruit as well up front. Dryness, pineapple cake, piney & woody hops once warmed up. Finishes dry with a little kiss of pineapple boozeyness, grapefruitty & piney hops

MF: Fairly chewy, medium carbonation, great balance

Tons of flavor, dangerously drinkable. I was lucky enough to try the draft version a few days ago, very much the same beer, right now. Probably will hide a bottle just to see what it morphs into with some age on it
